Meridians project as straight lines that satisfy equations of the form u = a constant. Equally spaced meridians project to evenly-spaced straight lines orthogonal to the u-axis. Parallels project to straight lines orthogonal to the projected meridians and satisfy equations of the form v = a constant. Evenly spaced parallels project to unevenly spaced parallel lines on the projection. The spacing of these lines increases with distance from the u-axis. |
