Conclusion

This paper has examined everyman (1508) as a morality play, drawing from the rich content, vivid plot, and allegorical characters that serve as the mechanism through which the playwright depicted the theological values of the medieval era through the lens of realism. Beyond this however, these values also appeal to the chaos of the postmodern era. A man-centered era where Godly virtues or morality are under the threat of erasure. Everyman therefore serves as an example of the timeless value that art possess of speaking to all man at all times. The contest between good and evil stands out as a major challenge that confront human, weather it is in the Medieval era or in our post modern world.
