Alohaand welcome to the East Honolulu Food Festival’s Silent Auction.We hope you take the time to admire all the wonderful items up for bid and find a treasure or two to take home with you this evening. Auction RulesThe rules and procedures outlined below are intended to ensure that the Star of the Sea East Honolulu Food Festival Silent Auction is a great experience for all. We thank you in advance for your generous support and participation! MAHALO! GENERAL RULESThe purchase of admission to Star of the Sea East Honolulu Food Festival allows an individual, over the age of 18, to participate in the silent auction, which will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will close at 8:30 p.m. Legibility counts, first and last names are used to direct bidders to the correct casher lines for a speedy check out. Please know that….. Every effort has been made to describe items accurately and completely. All items are auctioned “as is” and “where is” and without any warranty, recourse or representation of any kind as to the correctness of the description, authenticity, condition, quality, merchantability, or fitness for any purpose. The date of vacations, travel and entertainment items and services are subject to mutual availability and agreement of the donors and the buyers. The buyer should contact the donor as soon as possible after the auction to make those arrangements. Restaurant and hotel gift certificates generally do not include tax, gratuity, or alcohol. Please note: donated gift certificates expire on the date listed on the gift certificate. All gift certificates are non-refundable and have no redeemable cash value. Lost certificates are not replaceable. The SOS East Honolulu Food Festival Silent Auction Committee reserves the right to withdraw or reduce the minimum bid of any items, at any time, before the actual sale. ALL SALES ARE FINAL WITH NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. AUCTION ITEMS HAVE BEEN GRACIOUSLY DONATED BY PERSONS OR COMPANIES LISTED WITH EACH ITEM. Silent Auction RulesA bid sheet will be displayed with each item. You may bid on an item by printing your first and last name in the left column, your phone number in the middle column, and your bid in the right column. Minimum bids, minimum raise and value amounts are noted on each sheet. Once a bid sheet is signed, it constitutes a contract to purchase the item. You may not cross out, tamper with, or change your bid or bids placed by anyone else. Doing so automatically disqualifies you from participating in the bidding process. Only an auction official can nullify a bid. The amount of your bid must be equal to or exceed the amount of the starting bid in order to be accepted. The minimum amount a bid can successfully be raised is stated on the bid sheet. Bids must be raised in the increments stated. Only bids that are equal to or exceed the minimum raise amount will be accepted. Bids that do not follow the minimum raise may be determined invalid, in which case the next highest acceptable bidder will be determined by the highest bid. The last signature (and the highest valid bid) on the bid sheet will determine the winning bid. The winning bid must be recorded on the bid sheet before the section is closed. If the highest bid is illegible, the item will go to the second highest (legible) bidder. The closing bid, circled by the auction official, constitutes the winning bid. The auction will close at 8:30 p.m. Immediately following, cashier lines will be arranged alphabetically by last name. NOTE: The final copy of the bid sheet will remain on the table, noting the winning bidder. You do not need to be present to win. If you have made the winning bid but are not present when the silent auction closes, a member of the committee will call you a few days later to arrange payment and pick up of your item. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card. The Star of the Sea East Honolulu Food Festival Silent Auction Committee accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Please retain the receipt for your records. The SOS East Honolulu Food Festival Silent Auction Committee reserves the right to change, add, or remove items from the silent auction at any time.
