Alyssa D’Orazi Curriculum Integration SETT EDS 6423 Student Environment -4th grader -Loves following sports -Avid reader -Has cerebral palsy. Can type with one finger and is able to use and adapted trackball but is very slow & has trouble completing school work in the time allotted. -Inclusive elementary classroom with in-class support teacher -4 computers in the classroom, plus cart of laptop computers available Tasks Technology Rationale -note taking during reading comprehension lesson(student must listen to the story being read aloud) -writing skills (student must be able to predict what they think will happen next in the story and write their own ending) -graphic organizer such as TimeLiner -speech synthesis word processor The student would be given access to one of the laptops in the room where they can take notes on the story verbally through the use of a speech synthesis word processor. The note-taking would be organized with the use of a graphic organizer, like TimeLiner and the student would be able to finish the last part of the writing component again with the use of the speech synthesis word processor. Student Environment -6th grader -Loves listening to stories & watching movies -Good athlete -Has learning disabilities. Reads at a 2nd grade reading level. Ineligible handwriting, difficulty editing and spelling.
