  1. Android’s operating system was first based on a Linux kernel. What is a Linux kernel? Well, back in 1991, a student at the University of Helsinki, Linus Torvalds, was interested in operating systems and decided to write his own. The first version of Linux had 10,239 lines of code in 1991. The latest version has 14,619,185 due to thousands of programmers worldwide. That is the history of Linux. It has become the top operating system on servers, mainframes and supercomputers. It is also contributing in on systems like smartphones, routers, and tablets. That’s where Android comes in. They were found in 2003 for new software’s for smartphones. Google bought Android in 2005. Then, in 2007, the Open Handset Alliance, a group of phone makers, chip manufacturers, and Google, announced the release of the Android operating system. Last year in February, Android had 9% of the US smartphone market. In August 2010, the percentage had grown to 21.4%. So to answer question 3, yes Android is still around and getting more and more successful as time goes on.




  1. Android O.S. is free for manufacturers to use. Google makes their money back from its advertising services and their OS is supporting their brand.




  1. In 2007, the announcement of the release for the Android operating system was made.




  1. The wide availability of a free, mobile operating system is an amazing bonus to the growing world. This operating system has influenced the United States, China, India and the countries of Africa, where mobile connectivity is way cheaper. Android allows phone manufacturers produce devices without worrying about software; this is cheaper and gives them more customers. This is a huge accomplishment for this O.S, it has the power to change everything from markets to education, politics and government.



  1. The requirements for Android O.S are API level, Device capabilities, RAM, CPU Speed, CPU/GPU Compatibility, Disk.

There are many positives features to the Android O.S, one of them being the fact that men and women are capable of having many of the Android operating benefits they need to use free virus protection, you can move content through any installed app that can share things, you can customize your smartphone, when you plug your Android into your computer, you can see a file system just like the one you worked with if you were searching for something on your computer, google is extremely quick and can give you websites with the most relevant information, Android’s Google Play Store always offers better quality then the IPhone, and several different unlocking options for phone.




  1. Although there are many positives features too the Android, there will always be negatives, some of these include: (most of these are for Android smartphones)

-Battery life sucks


-Viruses are more prone

-The no upgrade for older models to the newer operating system


-Cluttered

-Cluttered and un-organized

- Android was initially developed by Android Inc. and later acquired by Google

- Android has a large community of developers and there about 700000 apps available

- Android is mainly for phones and tablets, but it has also been used in televisions, cameras, game consoles, and other electronic devices.

- Android Inc. was found by Andy Rubin, Nick Sears, Chris White and Nick Sears in California in October, 2003

  1. Apple's Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone to the world on January 9th, 2007, in what is known as his greatest presentation ever. Since then, the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch has changed the entire world of technology. Our world is moving so quickly that iOS is already one of the older mobile operating systems in active development today. Apple has made iOS one of the most rich and well-supported system on the market. iOS 7, which is the current version powering Apple's mobile devices, is an easy smartphone operating system to all new customers. To this day, Apple has been coming out with new and improved versions of IOS, I think they will continue improved their products as time goes on and I think they will for sure be around a lot longer.




  1. IOS 7 is free to all devices you can update. The devices you are able to update are all iPads except the original, the 5th generation iPod Touch, the iPhone 4, 4S, and 5, 5C, 5S, and whatever new iOS devices Apple releases in the near future.




  1. IOS was released in 2007, along with the IPhone




  1. The IOS is probably the most popular electronic company, I see probably like every other people with an Apple product. Through their journey, they have come up with a variety of different products. They were the first company to come up with the tablet, now other electronic companies are following in their footsteps. In the malls they have their own stores and sometimes it’s the most visited store in the mall. Steve Jobs has discovered something huge, and I can’t imagine a world now without IOS and Apple.

  1. There are so many positive aspects for IOS/Apple, some positive things include:

-The design of the products (Apples designs rarely feel cheap)

-The Mac OS Rules

-Real Reliability, as most people would probably say, Apple makes some of the most reliable products on the market

-Everyone panic over illegal music downloads, Apple unveiled the 99-cent song download, an easy to use software music store for buying them at reasonable prices

-Mac Runs Windows, a lot of people are choosing to run both on one machine, an Intel based Mac.

-ITunes Radio

-Camera App

-Face time Audio

-AirDrop


  1. Even with the bestselling products worldwide, there will always be things people don’t like about them, these include:

-Tracking

-Automatic App Updates

-Battery Life

-Siri Search

-Motion sickness (apparently the IOS has been literally making people sick, the IOS7 is loaded with animations and dynamic backgrounds that make some users feel nauseous)

-The first design of the iPhone was made back as far as 1983, which looked more like an iPad, but with an actual phone attached to it.

-“iOS” is trademarked by Cisco, not Apple



-Google makes more money from Apple’s iOS than from Android

-A 17-year old boy in China sold his kidney on the black market to afford an iPhone and iPad
