Assistant Dean of Global Executive Education Associate Professor

A surgeon by training, with a multi-disciplinary Ph.D. from Harvard University, Dr. Zhang has research and teaching expertise in business model innovation, leading strategy transformation, non-market strategy, and health care innovation, and has offered executive programs jointly with Harvard Business School (Designing and Executing Strategy), INSEAD (Advanced Management Program), London Business School, IMD, and DUKE CE. He has led company specific programs across the world, and his clients include Novartis, Nestle, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Roche, Marsh & McLennan，just to name a few. Currently at Peking University, he is the faculty director for Global Executive Program (with Wharton and Oxford), Asia CEO Program, and the Next China Program (a multi-module program on China system and business evolution for MNC executives) He has supervised over 100 action learning projects for senior executives in China. He is also involved in advising some leading PE firms in China. Moreover, he is the founder of 2 health care start-ups in China

Dr. Zhang has published his research on top journals, such as Journal of Health Economic, and has won international award for his published business case.. Moreover, he has contributed to WSJ and other global business media..

Dr. Zhang was a permanent faculty of management at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) from 2008 to 2012, and was the founding director of CEIBS Center for Health Care Policy and Management. He was also a Distinguished Bing Fellow of Health Economics at RAND (US) in 2008, and has been an adjunct faculty at Peking University School of Government.
