Treasurer’s Report – Johnnie Young/Carolyn Russell:

    1. See notes attached. – This should be the

    2. Johnnie has had some issues with getting out account set up with Delta Credit Union; he will have to go to the Corporate Office to brind documentation that we are able to operate in the State of GA

ProgramsTom Horton/Lynda Cordle/Lynn Schneider:

    1. Upcoming Speaker Plan:



  • 19 May – Mr. Tanah Barchichat, GTRI/ICL, Division Chief, Rapidly Deployable Communications and Network Testbeds (confirmed - Dave)




  • 23 Jun – Mr. Earl Davis, Rule One Investing (confirmed – Mitch, need picture)




  • 28 Jul - Mr. Andy Usher – with Senior Executive Associates; focus of the company is to help organizations set meetings with




  • 25 August – Mr. Jaspal Sagoo – CTO of CDC – Government and Cloud Initiatives

General David Turner – US Army Corps of Engineers is a potential future speaker; We have not received any feedback from ret. Gen. Maria Britt. She is now with Kennesaw State University and they are about to transition a new president so we will no longer pursue her as a near-term speaker. Discussed adding additional members to the Programs team to join Tom Horton.


Membership - Indra Dattagupta/Tom Galligan:

  1.  May report - As of the end of April membership is at 281 , +1 from last month and -1 from this time last year.

Young AFCEAnsKevin Parker:


  1. We have not heard from Kevin in several months; we are going to reach back out to him to see about his involvement in the future. If he is unable to serve in VP capacity, then Julie Goetz will attempt to recruit a new Young AFCEAN to replace Kevin.

Enlisted Affairs

a. No report; we need to identify a new VP for the Enlisted Affairs for the next year



Publicity – Dan Swacina:

  1. No report – Did discuss looking at some other STEM related activities which may be a method

Awards – Indra Dattagupta:

  1. Pat announced that the Region did very well this year; All 3 Presidents in GA won an award; Dave Landry won Leadership Award and Tom Galligan was awarded MSA. Atlanta and Augusta won the Model Chapter Award as well; Awards will be received on June 20th at AFCEA Homeland Security Conference in Washington DC.

Small Business – Z. D. Wooten/Kathy Swacina:

  1. Kathy is reaching out to the Ft. Gordon SBA to see if they could come speak to the Chapter in the Fall; ideally, would love to create a panel with SBA representatives from different areas.

Web Master – Brian Edholm/ David Landry:

  1. Dave has updated items in order to track Luncheon tickets by month; also discussed putting directions and Map for Gate 1 onto the website. Paypal is also working correctly.

OLD Business:

  1. None


NEW Business:


  1. Chapter Awards announcements – All notes included above in Awards

  2. Chapter Officer voting – discussed new ballot and some additions and changes with the new ballot; ballot will be sent out to the membership

  3. Pat announced that TechNet Augusta is scheduled for August 2-4

  4. Major Walthour discussed that the new Luncheon fees; this would be a detrimental to the attendance of the government employees and she would recommend removing this fee. Motion was made to remove the Attendance Fee for all Government, Military, and Civil Servants personnel; the $10 fee would remain in place for all other attendees. The motion was approved. Dave will add a $0 Government attendee Pay at Door ticket to the website.
