Creating an .mp3 audio file for podcasting, posting, embedding or attaching.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the buttons at the top of the screen, and which button serves what purpose, such as Skip to Start, Play, Record, Pause, Stop, and Skip to End.

  1. Skip to Start returns you to the beginning of the sound clip.

  2. Play begins playing from the selected postion.

  3. Record begins recording from the input device.

  4. Pause will halt the recording until it is pressed again.

  5. Stop will stop the recording and allow you to edit it and save it.

  6. Skip to end moves to the end of the clip.

  1. To record, press “Record,” and start speaking into the microphone.

  1. Press “Stop,” to end the recording. A blue graph is created on the bar – this is the representation of the sound file you just made.

  2. The sound bar can be manipulated; you can select portions of it, zoom in and out to have more precise control, or even delete, copy, and paste portions of it.

        1. Record yourself snapping your fingers.

        2. Copy the sound.

        3. Press “Skip to End” and paste it. Repeat this three times.

        4. Press “Skip to Start.” Play this from the beginning, and it will sound as if you are repeatedly snapping your fingers.

Saving and Exporting Your Podcast

  1. Select “File,”

  2. Select “Save Project As.”

  3. Name your project.

  4. Select a location to save it to.

  5. To export your file, once again select “File.”

  6. Select “Export as MP3.”

  7. Save your program and, upon doing so, enter some information into the Title and Artist fields in the “Edit ID3 tags for the MP3 file” dialogue box that appears as shown below.

Congratulations! You have now created your own .mp3 file for sharing through podcasting, posting, embedding or attaching.
