For this experiment, only simple measures had to be made to conclude if the sharp sand could be used. By filling a transparent plastic box half way with the sharp sand and adding water until the sand was completely covered, a simplified fluidisation experiment could be carried out with a hose being the anchor leg. Figure 10 and Figure 11 illustrate the experiment. The fluidised sand is clearly highlighted in the drawn box for Figure 11.
