There are no additional steps needed to install buffering after installing the PI API. The delivered PI API library supports both buffered and un-buffered calls.
Configuring Buffering ManuallyBuffering is enabled through the
use of a configuration file,
piclient.ini. Unless this file is modified to explicitly enable buffering, the
PI API will not buffer data, sending data directly to the home node.
