Joan Karp is a life member of the League of Women after being a member of the PBC League for for 22+ years and the MA League for 30 years. Joan has been President, 1st and 2nd Vice President and newsletter editor, as well as fund raising chair, dues secretary, secretary, database manager, and a member of the Speakers Bureau. Currently, she serves as Treasurer. Joan was webmaster of the LWVPBC website and the Florida League’s website. Originally from New York, she spent most of her adult life in Massachusetts before moving to Boca Raton in 1994. Joan is a graduate of Hunter College and had a career in the computer industry as a programmer, technical writer and manager. She is widowed, has one daughter, one son, and three grandchildren. 
Pam Maldonado - After almost two decades of living overseas and 12 years in Miami, Pam arrived in Palm Beach three years ago and joined the League shortly after retiring. One of the first things she did after joining was take a League sponsored trip to the National Women’s Historical Sites in upstate New York, which was a life altering experience. Always passionate about civic involvement in government, she came home inspired by the work of the suffragettes and determined to carry on their cause to extend voting rights to all. Since she is fluent in Spanish, she has decided to concentrate her activities on recruiting Hispanic members to the League and working to increase voter registration in that demographic. She lives in Wellington and has three adult children. 
Diane Marks is originally from New York and has been interested in politics since 1960. She worked directing computer programming departments from 1969 until moving to Florida in 1993. She retired in 2010. 
She has been a member of the League for three years and works with the Climate Action Coalition, the Environmental Committee, and Voter Services. She is secretary of the League. Other volunteer activities include Temple Beth Torah of Wellington, Venetian Isles Chapter of Hadassah, Guardian ad Litem, and Girl Scouts.
