JACK SHILKRET'S ORCHESTRA
Jack Shilkret, one of Nat Shilkret's brothers, recorded many sides for Victor in the 1920s and for ARC in the 1930s. The earlier records offer little to interest the jazz enthusiast, but the following is of slight interest.
Nat Shilkret dir: Harry Shilkret, Tommy Gott, t / Harry Raderman, tb / Jack Wasserman, cl, ss, as / Larry Abbott, cl, as, bar / Al Raderman, cl, ts / Lou Raderman, vn / Jack Shilkret, p / Lee Connor, bj / bb / Joe Green, d. New York, October 14, 1925.

NAT SHILKRET
Nathaniel "Nat" Shilkret was Victor's Director of Light Music between 1915 and 1945, and he also conducted various studio orchestras in recordings of serious works. Between 1926 and 1932, he directed dozens of sides as NAT SHILKRET AND THE VICTOR ORCHESTRA (the English HMV equivalents omit "Victor" from the artist credit), for which he drew on some of the finest talent in New York. The following feature solos of interest, in the identification of which I have had the incalculable assistance of Nat Shilkret himself, and also of Milt Rettenberg.
NAT SHILKRET AND THE VICTOR ORCHESTRA: Nat Shilkret (sometimes playing c / cl / p / cel) dir: Del Staigers, ?
