Address Format Recommendations to improve
DSL Service prequalification results

Note: To qualify locations for AT&T Business Internet DSL – Broadband Service, you MUST use the following TN for all single site or bulk prequalification: 908-555-1234. Broadband Service results will not show on the qualification results if this TN is not used.

To determine locations served by ADSL In-Region we suggest using a false number such as 999999999 unless your request is specifically for Line Share. ADSL from COVAD is always Line share.

Prequalification results may be impacted by the way the address is entered. Below is a list of different tips on how to enter an address to improve the prequalification success rate.

Most importantly – use the following address format suggestions when entering an address into the DSL prequalification tool http://iomdsl.ipservices.att.com/ordering/prequal.cgi.

  1. Do not use periods in the Address 1 or 2 fields (i.e., use ST, not ST.)

  2. Use all upper case letters in the Address 1 and 2 fields (i.e., use ST, not St)

  3. Use a single, capital letter for directions (i.e., use N Main ST, not North Main ST)

  4. In the Address 1 field, use the following abbreviations below for the thoroughfare instead of the full name (i.e., use Rd, not Road)

  1. When site qualification tool provides a response for ADSL-IR or Broadband then service can be ordered for the site.

    1. If the response is Broadband but only 768K Dynamic then attempt the address validation again with a different phone number (not the AT&T Voice number) such as 9999999999.  This is to see if the site is eligible for ADSL service at a higher speed than 768K. The reason this is necessary is that if the site is eligible for Broadband, no matter what the speed, then it will not check for ADSL.

  1. When the response includes the message “Certain Broadband speeds did not qualify due to conflicting services: .” (this message will always be in an YELLOW box on the lower part of the screen.)  This is an indication that the site is served by ATT Broadband technology using VDSL.

    1. If Broadband speeds are indicated then you can place an order for those speeds. The Broadband will be provided is IP DSL (using ADSL2+).

      1. NOTE: Many sites are served by two Broadband technologies VDSL and ADSL2+.  Only VDSL has the issue with “conflict of service”

    2. If no Broadband speed is indicated then Broadband is only provided via VDSL and it cannot be provisioned at the site because if we did so, the Broadband and the conflicting service(s) will not function properly.

  2. Qualifying a site requires an exact match on the suite, unit, kiosk, etc.  When the site qualification tool detects that the address is a multi-tenet location the following message will appear:  Broadband / IR Direct (DryLoop) did not qualify because an exact address match was not found. Select here to see a list of possible matches [Check Broadband / IR Direct (DryLoop) Service Availability]

    1. Qualification requires the selection of a specific “unit”.  Clicking the “red” link and selecting the specific “unit”.

    2. If the “unit” is not available, please request the “unit” be added to the database by sending a screen shot of the available “units” along with the information regarding the missing “unit” needed for the site to AT&T for addition.

      1. Send to Casi Ferguson cf3885@att.com .  Casi will request that the “unit” be added to the site. This process can take 10 or more business days. If it is possible (or not possible) to add the site, Casi will notify you via email.  At that point, you will need to re-qualify the site. If it is successful, you can place the order.

      2. The email to Casi must include in the Subject line: ATTBusDSL Unit Add, Your Company Name, date (mmddyyyy) and an alpha character showing the order of the request. Each addition should be requested in a separate email.  Example ATTBUSDSL Unit Add ACME 08302103a

  3. If the location is a site that is NEW CONSTRUCTION and not listed in the site qualification database, you can request that the address be added.  We will investigate and respond to you via email if the address can be added.  This process can take 10 or more business days.

    1. The email to ATT should be sent to Casi Ferguson cf3885@att.com and must include in the Subject line: ATTBusDSL NEW CONST Add, Your Company Name, date (mmddyyyy) and an alpha character showing the order of the request. Each addition should be requested in a separate email.  Example ATTBUSDSL NEW CONST Add ACME 08302103a

    2. Include in the email the address information and the name  of end user plus any information about the new construction site, such as anticipated date the business will open, name of complex where the site will be located, etc.
