2. Authority. The Old Testament (which the Jews call Tanakh) and Tradition are the authority for Jews. Tradition is primarily found in the Talmud, known as the Oral Law or Second Law which is comprised of the Mishnah and commentaries. Orthodox Judaism holds a high view of the Old Testament. Conservative Judaism holds a moderate view of the Old Testament. Reform Judaism holds a liberal view of the Old Testament.
