Validation of the Instrument
Three experts validated the instrument, two from Educational Administration and Planning (Educational Foundations) and one other from Measurement and Evaluation all in the faculty of Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka validated the instrument to establish the face validity. The experts were to determine the extent to which the items actually elicited the information they were intended for. They were also to ascertain the appropriateness and clarity of the language and coverage of the purpose, research questions and hypotheses by the items. The experts helped to ensure that the relevant dimensions of the constructs used in the study were adequately covered by the instrument. Materials with poor or ambiguous words were expunged to make the instrument more relevant to the study. Their comments helped in modifying the instrument and producing the final version.
