FOCS – Ice creams and waffles were sold in the playground on the Friday before half term and raised £16.75 for FOCS. Thank you to Craig. ‘Treat Friday’ will usually take place every Friday for the rest of the term (apart from the final Friday).
Collett Park Day
Please support Collett Park Day tomorrow and pay a visit to the school stall! There is free entry from 10.00 am – 5.00 pm. Thank you to everyone for volunteering to help on the stall and also for the donations of raffle prizes and cakes.
Thank you - Apologies to Sandra Kirkham who was unfortunately missed off our list of volunteer helpers who came to Victoria Art Gallery in Bath before half term. We are extremely grateful to all our volunteers who give up their time willingly to support our learning outside of school.
Clubs – Mini Olympic Club (Tuesdays) and Athletics (Thursday) have been cancelled due to insufficient numbers. Apologies to those concerned.
Learning Journey – Reception parents - Parents of Reception children are invited to come and stick their child’s latest observations in their learning journey books on:
Wednesday 14th June – 3.00pm – 3.30pm Spiders and Bees
Thursday 15th June – 3.00pm – 3.30pm – Caterpillars and Butterflies
Lydia’s Labyrinth - Just a reminder to parents who would like to help, please turn up with a spade and a little energy at 10.00 am on Saturday 17th June in the school playing field. Children are welcome to assist as well.
New Reception Parents - We welcomed our new Reception parents to our school on Thursday with the next visit arranged for parents and children on Wednesday 21st June from 2.30 pm – 3.30 pm in the school hall.
Midday Lunch Supervisor - We are looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to cover Monday and Fridays. The salary would be £7.90 per hour and the working time is 11.30 am to 1.15 pm. The role involves helping to set up the hall for lunches , supervise and assist children in the dining hall and on the playground, ensuring they are safe and play happily in an appropriate manner. A Food Hygiene Certificate and DBS clearance will be required, but these can be arranged by Mrs Meaden. If you are interested, please see Mrs Burr or Mrs Meaden in the school office.
Oats Allergy Alert – We have received this-to date information from Wells Blue Catering concerning allergens in particular oats, we were always under the assumption that oats are Gluten free but, they contain a protein called avenin. Flour products contain gliadin, hordein and secalin and these are presently tested when detecting coeliac disease, however, one in three can also be allergic to avenin in oats. I am very sorry about this confusion, please do not give your students who are coeliac any flapjack or any products that contain oats.
Android or IOS devices required - if you or family have any working electronic tablets/devices (Ipad, Samsung, Lenovo, Android, IPhone 4s or newer etc) gathering dust in drawers and would be willing to donate them to school (due to recently upgrading older models to newer tech), it would be very much appreciated. We will be implementing a new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) system from September that requires the use of electronic devices and I would be really grateful for any donations. Thank you for your continued support. Miss S Moore.
Lunch Orders – The menu for w/c 19th and 26th June has been uploaded to ParentMail today. Please respond by Tuesday 13th June. Some parents have pre-booked the term in advance (paper version available in office). We have not sent a ParentMail lunch request to those children who regularly have sandwiches from home. If you require lunches to be booked please come into the office for a form.
