POSITION: Director of Children and Youth

Part Time Position

COMMUNITY AND CHURCH:

College Park, located inside the perimeter in South Atlanta, provides the best of both worlds - a small town atmosphere within one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. The city is just northwest of Atlanta’s International Airport, and is next to East Point and Hapeville to form a tri-city area. The historic part of the city also provides convenient access to all Atlanta Interstates and MARTA mass-transit system. Historic College Park is Georgia’s fourth largest urban Historic District. There are 606 acres and 853 properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.

Founded as Atlantic City in 1890 as a depot on the Atlanta and West Point Railroad, the city was renamed Manchester when it was incorporated in 1891, then renamed again as the city of College Park in 1896.
Historic College Park is home to Woodward Academy, the largest independent school in the continental U.S.
College Park First United Methodist Church is located in the historic section of the city, immediately next to the College Park MARTA station and across from the railroad line that originally spawned the city. CPFUMC is a venerable institution which has served this community for over 100 years. Established in 1894, the church has grown and changed over the years to meet the needs of its congregation. Today, the church meets the needs of every generation, from the pre-school children receiving Christian education at The Learning Academy to the seniors who depend on the church for comfort, inspiration and community. As neighborhood demographics change, the church is a beacon of faith to all opening its doors for fellowship and worship.
