Continental unites products, brands and solutions under one roof at HDAW

  • ContiTech Air Spring Systems and Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket to combine at Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week Product Expo, presenting pavilion of aftermarket solutions to visitors

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, Las Vegas, Nevada/USA, January 27-30, 2014 – Continental’s ContiTech division and the Continental Commercial Vehicles and Aftermarket business unit will showcase a wide range of quality aftermarket and replacement part solutions for today’s technology focused heavy duty equipment distributors at the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week Product Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ContiTech Air Spring Systems is part of Continental Corporation offering air spring assemblies for adjustable air suspension systems. ContiTech has been developing diverse and innovative solutions for over five decades. Today, the company provides a range of air spring designs, unique testing technology, advanced manufacturing capability and excellent sales service worldwide for both the original equipment and independent aftermarket sectors. ContiTech offers a product range of air springs for the commercial vehicle industry, such as rolling lobe and convoluted air springs for trucks, trailers and busses, as well as sleeve type air springs for driver’s seats, cab suspensions and air suspension kits.

“ContiTech Air Spring Systems is pleased to provide OEM quality replacement parts that are manufactured with high quality elastomeric materials and are designed for safety, comfort and reliability. With the help of our successful independent aftermarket partners, ContiTech air springs are available wherever they are needed,” said John Hilkirk, product manager, ContiTech Air Spring Systems Aftermarket NAFTA.

The Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket business unit (CVAM), a leading global supplier of systems and components to automobile and truck manufacturers and a world leader in Electronic On Board Recording / Electronic Logging Device technology, offers its VDO RoadLog – the all-in-one solution that allows drivers to record and report Hours of Service (HOS) as well as other key compliance data quickly and easily. For example, VDO RoadLog EOBR/ELD also generates mileage reports for IRP / IFTA as well as key compliance data for Vehicle Inspection and Repair Maintenance (DVIR). VDO RoadLog is the most affordable electronic log on the market. In addition to no monthly fees, there are also no long-term contracts or smartphones required. Because it can produce an instant paper log, VDO RoadLog helps drivers get through roadside inspections and back on the road faster and easier than any other electronic log.

In addition to VDO RoadLog, CVAM will also feature VDO instrumentation and Camera Systems, ProViu ASL360, a 360 degree Camera Surround System and AutoLinQ Mobile, a smarter smartphone docking station.

VDO world-class instrumentation and camera systems

All of the innovative VDO instruments are designed to deliver world-class accuracy, durability and dependability in the most rigorous environments. Built with the most reliable technology available, VDO instruments are easy to install, easy to read, and are all offered at very competitive pricing. The VDO camera systems feature 7” color monitors (single and quad screen display) with cameras that offer normal / mirror modes, 100% waterproof housing, vibration resistance, and infrared LEDs for night vision. The VDO camera systems also meet all OEM specifications.
ProViu ASL360

This 360 degree monitoring system improves driving and safety in critical situations, such as dense city traffic, narrow loading ramps, busy factory yards and construction sites. The system can be permanently active to enhance safety even when the vehicle is standing still, allowing the driver to monitor the vehicle and its cargo. Blind spots are eliminated and the driver can now better see wall projections, corners of buildings and other vehicles in order to operate the vehicle safely.

AutoLinQ Mobile

This flexible smartphone docking station (FSDS) integrates drivers’ smartphones with their vehicles to make the phone usable in a safe manner while driving. It gives drivers and passengers cost-optimization and safe access to a large number of in-car services and to several infotainment and communication channels.

“We’re excited about highlighting this incredible grouping of products and brands all together under the Continental umbrella, to create a ‘one-stop’ environment for the HDAW audience,” Phil McEwen, Director of Sales CVAM Commercial and Specialty Vehicles states. “As one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers, Continental can provide technologies of the future that help commercial vehicle and heavy duty operations with their needs for fuel savings, cost reduction strategies, regulatory compliance and much more. Not only are we an industry leader in our respective areas, but when exhibiting with our sister organizations, such as ContiTech, we serve as an invaluable resource for products and solutions that the cost-conscious, technology-focused heavy duty distributors’ customers demand.”
With provisional sales of around €33.3 billion in 2013, Continental is among the leading automotive suppliers worldwide.
