Brief Description

A condensed combination of introductory Pre-Calculus.

Course Description:

Covers basic concepts of Pre-Calculus applications.



Objective:

The objectives of this course will provide students the opportunity to understand and utilize rational functions, the unit circle, and their relationships.



Course Requirements:

  1. A course notebook for recording notes, examples, assignments, homework and announcements

  2. Regular Class Attendance

  3. A scientific calculator may be required.

  4. No cell phones may be turned on or used during class time.

  5. No food or drinks are allowed in the classroom.

Teaching/Learning Methods:

The course will include lectures and student participatory activities. Exposure to and use of technology will be an integral part of the course.






Course Outline


  • Investigate functions.

  • Use the circle to define the trigonometric functions

  • Investigate and use the graphs of the six trigonometric functions

  • Establish trigonometric identities and use them to simplify trigonometric expressions and verify equivalence statements

  • Solve trigonometric equations both graphically and algebraically

  • Use sequences and series

**Changes to syllabus may occur if necessary.
