Airpower’s unique attributes necessitate it be centrally controlled by an
Airman. Experience has shown the Air Force to be the preferred choice of JFCs to exercise command and control (Cover the joint air effort. Airmen tend to take abroad view of competition their focus is on applying airpower to accomplish the
JFC’s objectives. Airmen apply airpower through the tenet of mission command.
