As you get off the bus, look at the half-timbered Maison des Quatrans in front of you. Built by Jean Quatrans in the late 14th century, this is the oldest timber-framed house remaining in Caen today. Confiscated by the British in 1417 and given to an English knight, the Quatrans House was rebuilt in the late 15th century. Today it houses the Association for “Music in Normandy” and the International Institute for Human Civil Rights and Peace.
