Double-digit sales and EBIT growth


ZAGREB, 5th May 2009 – Atlantic Grupa concluded the first quarter of 2009 with a revenue of 498.4 mill. kunas, which represents a growth of 13 percent  compared to the same period the year before. The company's EBIT realized a 51 percent increase to a total of 44.69 mill. kunas, while the net profit amounted to 24.24 mill. kunas. A more considerable EBIT growth in the first quarter can partly be attributed to non-recurring gain on purchase of minority interest in Cedevita d.o.o. from the DEG amounting to 9.9 mill. kunas.

„With a timely restructuring, responsible planning as well as expenses control, Atlantic Grupa has, despite the more difficult business enviroment in a time of recession, continued to deliver excellent results and keep its good solvency. The months before us still bare challenges that we in Croatia and globally have been facing since late last year, but we are ceirtan that our consistently responsible business and development strategy can keep delivering good results throughout 2009“, said Mladen Veber, Senior Vicepresident for Business Operations.

In the firts quarter 2009 all divisions of Atlantic Grupa have performed according to Management's plans, delivering a growth between 8 and 16 percent. The period has been marked by several developments beneficiary to the company's growth, most of all the launch of the greatest investment project of Atlantic Grupa – Cedevita GO!, the takeover of the Osijek based Karolina's distribution business followed by the takeover of distribuition of Nestle's hot beverages assortment in cafes, and finaly the agreement on the takeover of Ferrero's distribution in Slovenia.

In the overall sales of Atlantic Grupa Croatian participates with 62 percent, whereas international markets take up 38 percent. Germany remains the largest foreign market, while the Serbian market continues to realize highest sales growth of 24.3 percent. In the sales total, Atlantic's own brands  are represented  with 43 percent, distribution of international principal brands with 38 percent, Atlantic Farmacia with 12 percent, whereas the products which Atlantic Grupa produces as private label stand for 7 percent of sales.



In relation with Atlantic Grupa’s business results in 2008, the Management Board and the Supervisory Board will suggest to the Assembly a payment of 25 percent of the company’s annual net income in the form of dividend to Atlantic’s shareholders, dividend amounting to 7 kunas per share.
