Pre-FEED: Concept selection for extending productive field life of Buckskin Moccasin by injecting gas in a third phase after primary and secondary recovery (water injection) phases have matured. Study defined and evaluated two stages of investment:
1. Minimal Pre-investment required for BSM base case to enable second stage.
2. Full investment including addition of a purpose-built host facility for transitioning to gas injection using Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection operation into the secondary recovery water injection wells.

Subsea Systems Engineer - Responsible for generating and reviewing specifications, drawings and reports for the subsea trees, WAG manifolds, jumpers, controls, umbilicals, boost pump and subsea separation equipment.

Chevron – Buckskin/Moccasin Phase 2B – Pre-FEED

The Buckskin and Moccasin development concept consisted of a centrally-located hub facility that processes and exports production from the Buckskin and Moccasin Fields in the Keathley Canyon (KC) area, offshore Gulf of Mexico located approximately 267 miles southwest of New Orleans, LA in approximately 6,500 feet of water.

Noteworthy is that, because all subsea wells were predrilled by floaters in advance, the project was brought on stream in less than one year after subsea equipment order placement from EPC Contractor VetcoGray, who was responsible for supplying downhole well completion equipment in addition to the subsea satellite trees, subsea tieback equipment in combination with platform jacket completions including controls. Refer to 1987 OTC Paper 5362 and “Subsea Solutions Speed First Gas for Taiwan” Offshore Engineer – September 1987 for details.
