EZEKIEL CAVENDER line (1745-1800+)

EZEKIEL P. CAVENDER (“Ezekiel Cavender” , “E.P. Cavender” & “Ezekiel CavanaughDAR Patriot Index ) is believed to have been born in England, and immigrated to Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland about 1764403 at the age of 32, in which case he would have been born about 1732. (In fact, some say that he was born about 1735.). He married Elizabeth Ann Stallard (“Elizabeth Stallard”) about 1763 in either Dorchester County, Maryland, in Baltimore County, Maryland, or in Westmoreland County, Virginia about 1763492 & 494. Elizabeth Stallard was born in Virginia about 1742 or 1747 (some even say about 1750408and some even say she was likewise born in England492.), was the daughter of Walter Stallard, II and his second wife, Hannah Pitts, and who were living in Culpepper County, Virginia in 1750. However, some say that Elizabeth Stallard was the daughter of Walter Stallard, II and his first wife, Elizabeth Williams, of Essex County, Virginia.373 In either event, Walter Stallard II was born about 1720 in Culpepper County, Virginia, the same locality as Old Rappahennock County, Virginia where his father originally lived,371 and died about 1807. In the Last Will and Testament of Walter Stallard, II dated in 1803 and probated in 1807 in Culpepper County, Virginia, Elizabeth Stallard was referred to as his married daughter Elizabeth Cavender. Walter Stallard, Sr., in turn, was the son of a Samuel Stallard who was born about 1663 in St. Ann's Parish, Virginia, died about 1741, and married a Grace ("Grace Stallard"?).361

It is significant to note that a John Deadman (“John Dedmon” & “John Dedman”) was born about 1595 in Cavendish, Suffolk County, England and may be the beginning of the Deadman/Dedmon lines in this country with which the Cavender line apparently was closely associated.
