In 1820, then living in the same household of John Spinner was his wife who was then about 70 years of age and thus born about 1749-1750, a niece then 28 years of age and thus born about 1791-1792, and a grandson who was then 12 years of age and thus born about 1807-1808. On November 27, 1823, John Spinner listed his age as being 70? years and thus born about 1752-1753, and listed the age of his wife as being 72 years and thus born about 1750-1751.

John Spinner's wife, Mary Skinner, filed an application for pension in December 1846 and while then living in Lincoln County, Tennessee and stated that she was then 89 years of age, that she had married John Spinner in 1780, and that John Spinner died October 3, 1823 in Amelia County, Virginia.

On February 22, 1847, Benjamin Tucker stated in an affidavit: that, he was then about 70 years of age and thus born about 1776-1777; that, he was then a resident of Lincoln County, Tennessee; that, he married a Jane Spinner in 1796 in Amelia County, Virginia; that, his wife, Jane Spinner, was the only daughter and child of John Spinner and his widow; and that his children were:

Polly W. Tucker ("Polly Tucker", "Mary Tucker" & "Mary Jane Tucker") born on August 21, 1798;

Keziah M. Tucker ("Keziah Tucker") born July 21, 180?;

John Tucker born on October 13, 1807;

Martha A. Tucker born on March 16, 1810;

Benjamin Everet Tucker ("Benjamin Tucker" & "Everett Tucker"?) born on April 7, 1815, and,

Elizabeth Ann Tucker ("Elizabeth Tucker") born July 17, 1818.

The granddaughter of Keziah M. Cavender (formerly "Keziah Tucker") executed an affidavit on February 22, 1847 in Lincoln County, Tennessee in which she stated that she was then 42 years of age and that Keziah Cavender was born in Amelia County, Virginia and that Keziah Cavender had married Patrick Cavender.

Of possible significance, a Richard Skinner ("Richard Spinner"?) filed an application for pension No. S6140 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and stated that he was born in Amelia County, Virginia, that he was then "upwards" of 70 years of age, that he was living in Mecklenburg County, Virginia when had enlisted on October 2, 1832 in Albemarle County, Virginia, and had served in the Virginia Line.⁴⁰¹ Of additional possible significance is that, on December 20, 1779, the following Cavender’s enlisted in the Revolutionary War in Muky Town, Amelia County, Virginia on December 20, 1779: John Cavender, age 17, height 5 feet 8 inches, hair dark, and eyes blue; Joseph Cavender, age 19, height 5 feet 7 1/2 inches, hair dark, and eyes blue (who actually had re-enlisted); and, James Cavender, age 22, height 5 feet 8 1/4 inches, hair dark, and eyes hazel. Thus, the above Patrick Cavender could be either the son or grandson of one of the above Revolutionary War soldiers from Amelia County, Virginia.

It is known that the above Joseph Cavender was the son of Hugh Cavender and was born in Amelia County, Virginia.

Apparently Patrick Cavender died at a fairly young age because, in the 1850 census for Marshall County, Tennessee, Keziah Cavender (then spelled "Keziah Cavener") was listed as being 50 years old and was then living in the household of her daughter Mary Ann Cavender (then spelled "Mary Ann Cavener", “Mary A. Cavender”, “M.A. Cavender” & “Mary Jane Cavender”?) who had married Thomas Gold on February 19, 1846 in Marshall County, Tennessee. Based on the fact that Keziah Cavener was 50 years of age when the 1850 census was taken, then she would have been born about 1800.

In the 1860 census for Campbell Township in Greene County, Missouri, Keziah Cavener was living in the household of John H. Robertson ("John Robertson") who is believed to be the father of James Calvin Robertson ("James Robertson") who married Nancy Elizabeth Gold ("Nancy Gold").

In the 1880 census, Kesiah Cavener is listed as "Cisy Cavner", age 73 years, and then living in the household of her grandson, Henry Clay Cavener ("Henry Cavener", “Henry Cavender”? & “H.C. Cavender”) in Republic Township in Greene County, Missouri. If Keziah Cavender was 73 years of age when the 1880 census were taken, then she would have been born about 1806-1807.

As an observation of possible interest, Keziah Cavender signed the above affidavit with an "X", suggesting that she could neither read nor write. However, in her affidavit, she swore under oath that she went to school to a schoolteacher named John Pollard, and that even many years later she could even recognize John Pollard's handwriting, i.e., in 1847, the date on which she signed her own affidavit with an "X". If she really did go to school long enough to recognize handwriting, as she contended, then she should not only know how to sign her own name, or at least how to spell her complete name. However, it appears in some early Virginia schools, the first thing was to learn how to read the Bible. However, it is possbile that she learned her ABC's and how to spell her name, even before she learned how to read and write. As her married name was continually spelled "Cavender" throughout the affidavit, then the correct spelling of her name must be "Keziah Cavender", and not "Keziah Cavener", "Kissiah Cavenor", "Kissiah Cavender", "Cisy Cavener", "Kesiah Cavner", Kessiah Kavenna", "Keziah Cavener" or "Kesiah Cavender" which her name apparently has been variously spelled throughout her life. For example, the signature on the sales contract when she sold the family store was spelled “Kesia Kavenna”.⁴⁵⁴ In fact, for some unknown reason, some of the children of Patrick Cavender spelled their surname as "Cavender" and some dropped the "d" and spelled their surname as "Cavener".

However, according to the 1880 census for the 4th Civil District of Marshall County, Tennessee, a Jno. Cavender ("John Cavender"& "Jonathan Cavender") and his family were living there. He is listed as being 59 years of age, born in Virginia about 1821, his father was born in and his mother was born in Virginia. His wife, Rebecca Cavender, was listed as 52 years of age, born in Tennessee about 1828, her mother and father were both born in North Carolina. Their children were listed as a daughter named A.A. Cavender age 17 and who was born in Tennessee about 1863, and a son named Ger. T. Cavender ("G.T. Cavender") age 14 and born in Tennessee about 1866. According to the 1900 census for Hunt County, Texas, John Caventer ("John Cavener" & "John Cavender") was then 79 years old, widowed, and was living with his son Joseph Calvin Caventer ("Joseph Cavener", “Joseph Calvin Cavender”? & "Joseph Cavender"). John C. Cavender died about 1902 in either Joplin, Missouri or Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.

John Cavender and Amanda Cavender had 6 children:

WILLIAM WILLIS CAVENER ("William Cavner"?, "William Willis Cavner"?, “William B. Cavender”?, “W.W. Cavender”, “William Willis Cavender”? & "William Cavender"?) born on December 9, 1847 in Marshall County, Tennessee, first married Parlina Steele on January 24, 1868 in Christian County, Missouri, later married Melissa Taylor ("Malissa Taylor"⁴⁴⁵) on either April 2, 1871 or on April 21, 1871 in Stone County, Missouri, became a Methodist Minister, and died on March 22, 1903 in the town of Clinton in Clinton Township, Hunt County, Texas while visiting his brother, Joseph Calvin Cavener ("Joseph Cavener"), and is buried in Clinton Cemetery in Hunt County, Texas. The family story is that when William Cavender enlisted into the Army, his name was mispelled as William Cavener and that he never changed it back to Cavender.⁴⁵⁴ Melissa Taylor was born June 28, 1849 in either Tennessee or in Oklahoma Indian Territory⁴⁵⁴, died March 18, 1926 in either Joplin or in Dunewig⁴⁵⁴, Jasper County, Missouri at the age of 77, and is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Galena, Cherokee County, Kansas. William Cavener and Parlina Cavener had 2 children:

Mary Elizabeth Cavener ("Mary Cavener", "Mary Elizabeth Cavner", "Mary Cavner"?, “Mary E. Cavender”?, “M.E. Cavender”? & "Mary Cavender"?) born October 1, 1868 in Missouri, married William Alexander Weaver ("William Weaver"), died November 11, 1936 in Spring City, Newton County, Missouri, and is buried in the Jackson Cemetery in Spring City, Newton County, Missouri. William Weaver was born about 1850, and died on May 3, 1932 in Spring City, Newton County, Missouri. William Weaver and Mary Weaver ("Elizabeth Weaver") had 3 children:

Cora Weaver born about 1893, and died before 1932;

Minnie Weaver born about 1895, and died before 1932; and,

Lillie Weaver ("Lillian Weaver"?) born about 1899 in Missouri and married a Claywooe; and,

John Nirten Cavener ("John Nuten Cavener"?, "John Cavener", "John Nirten Cavner"?, "John Cavner"?, “John N. Cavender”?, “J.N. Cavender”? & "John Cavender"?) born July 16, 1870 in Missouri, and died on either July 22, 1870 or on July 19, 1870⁴⁵⁴ in Missouri;
