Emma D. Calahan ("Emma Calahan") born on September 16, 1899 in Tally Station, Marshall County, Tennessee, married James Leonidas Gillum ("James Gillum"), and died on October 9, 1990 in Lewisburg, Marshall County, Tennessee. James Gillum was born about 1892, and died about 1963. James Gillum and Emma Gillum had 2 children:

Perry Gillum born in Marshall County, Tennessee, and married Elizabeth Johns; and,

Sara Lyne Gillum ("Sara Gillum", "Sarah Gillum"? & "Lynn Gillum"?) born in Marshall County, Tennessee, and married Carl Luther; and

GEORGE THOMAS CAVENDER ("George Cavener" & "George Thomas Cavener"?, “George T. Cavender”, “G.T. Cavender” & "George Cavender") born about 1865, married and had one child, and all three of his family died within three weeks of each other with typhoid fever;

(ii) JAMES CAVENER ("James Cavender"? &“James Cavinor”) who was born about either about 1821 445 or about 1822 454-1823 in Amelia County, Virginia, is said to have dropped the "d" in his surname “Cavender” for some unknown reason, married Frances B. Gray ("Frances Gray", "Fanny Gray" & "Fannie Gray") on June 23, 1842 in Marshall County, Tennessee, and died about 1859 in Christian County, Missouri. Frances Gray was born October 18, 1820 in Bedford County, Tennessee, was the daughter of Austin Gray and Mary B. ("Polly"), and died about 1905 in Christian County, Missouri. Apparently, Mary B. was either previously married to Thomas Maples or subsequently married Thomas Maples. On July 3, 1842, Frances Cavener ("Frances Cavender"?) and Kesiah Cavanaugh ("Kesiah Cavener"? & "Kissiah Cavender"?) signed a petition regarding a matter being considered by the Primitive Apostolic Gospel of Jesus Christ Church at the Cane Creek Meeting House in Marshall County, Tennessee.

The children of James Cavener and Fanny Cavener are found in the Christian County, Missouri census in the household of Thomas Cavener at which time Thomas Cavener was 37 years of age and his household then included: Timothy Cavener age 16; Adaline Cavener age 14; Clemetime Cavener age 4; Josephine Cavender age 3; and, Rhoda Cavener age 1. After James Cavener died in 1859, Fanny Cavener married widower Thomas Maples in 1860. He was the father of eleven children. Quoting from "Traces of Gold" by James Ray Gold: "This Thomas Cavener is thought to be a brother of James Cavener. He was known as "Uncle Tim Cavener", and lived for many years in School, Missouri which is now known as Union City, Missouri. When Thomas Maples and Fanny Cavener married in 1860, it is likely that five or six of his children were still at home, and Fanny Cavener had six children at home. This, no doubt, explains why Fanny Cavener's children went to stay with Thomas Cavener."

In the 1860 census of Boaz County, Missouri, Frances Cavener is listed as the head of the household with six children, three born in Tennessee and three born in Missouri. After James Cavener died, his widow married widower, Thomas Maples, in 1860 who was then the father of eleven children. The children of James Cavender and Frances Cavender were:
