BRUCE PITT-PAYNE (born 1934). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Bruce Pitt-Payne (born 1934) [Epsom College 1947-1951] was the son of Dr L. G. J. Pitt-Payne, of Beckenham, Kent. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Beckenham, Kent. He was previously a Medical Officer for the South Pacific Health Service.


ILBURY HUGH STEVENSON (born 1934). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Ilbury Hugh Stevenson (born 1934) [Epsom College 1948-1953. prefect. Captain of Rugby XV] was the son of W. R. Stevenson, insurance official, of Purley, Surrey. He received his medical education at St Mary’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Erdington, Birmingham. He was previously a Government Medical Officer in Gibraltar, and a Clinical Assistant at the Jaffray Hospital, Birmingham.


ALAN MICHAEL BIRT (born 1934). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Alan Michael Birt (born 1934) [Epsom College 1948-1953. Vivian Prize] was the son of Dr C. H. Birt, of Woolston, Southampton, and brother of Dr Brian Derek Birt [Epsom College 1946-1951]. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Woolston, Southampton. He was previously in the Colonial Medical Service at Gulu, Uganda.

Peter Fforde Lutter (born 1934) [Epsom College 1948-1951] was the son of Dr F. T. F. Lutter, of Ealing, West London. He received his medical education at St George’s Hospital, and joined the R.A.M.C. He was promoted to Colonel and served as the British Medical Liaison Officer for the USA and Canada.


ROBERT GRAHAME WRANGHAM (born 1934). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), M.R.C.G.P., D.Obst.R.C.O.G., D.M.J.

Robert Grahame Wrangham (born 1934) [Epsom College 1946-1951] was the son of Dr G. R. H. Wrangham, of Ealing, West London. He received his medical education at St Mary’s Hospital, and went into general practice at West Ealing, London. He was a member of the Harveian Society.


LIEUTENANT-COLONEL DAVID ROBERT FINDLAY (born 1934). R.A.M.C., M.B., B.Ch. (Aberdeen), D.T.M. & H. (Eng.).

David Robert Findlay (born 1934) [Epsom College 1947-1951] was the son of Dr H. D. Findlay, of Slough, Middlesex. He was a Scholar of Aberdeen University, and after medical qualification joined the R.A.M.C., where he reached the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He was later appointed Principal Medical Officer at the Department of Health and Social Security. He was a member of the Anglo-German Medical Society,


FRANCIS JAMES Le COUILLARD (born 1934). M.B., B.S. (Lond.).

Francis James Le Couillard (born 1934) [Epsom College 1947-1952] was the son of Dr C. G. Le Couillard, of Thorpe Bay, Essex. He received his medical education at the Middlesex Hospital, and went into general practice at Farnham, Surrey.


PETER ROY HEWETT (1934-1960). M.B., B.S. (Lond.).

Peter Roy Hewett (1934-1960) [Epsom College 1947-1951] was the son of E. J. Hewett, cartographer, of Cairo, Egypt. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and entered the R.A.F. as a Flight Lieutenant Medical Officer. He was a member of the University of London Swimming Team. He died at the age of 26 years.


JOHN AMBROSE BRAITHWAITE (born 1934). M.A., M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.).

John Ambrose Braithwaite (born 1934) [Epsom College 1948-1953] was the son of Dr J. V. C. Braithwaite, of Leicester. He received his medical education at Cambridge University and St George’s Hospital. He went into general practice at Fakenham, Norfolk, having previously been Medical Registrar at Croydon General Hospital, and Registrar in the Department of Neurosurgical Research at St George’s Hospital.


ANTHONY JOHN HERBERT ELLISON (born 1934). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G., D.A. (Eng.).

Anthony John Herbert Ellison (born 1934) [Epsom College 1947-1952] was the son of Dr Hubert Henry Lacey Ellison, J. P. [Epsom College 1907-1911]. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at St Lawrence, Guernsey. He was previously a Clinical Assistant (General Practitioner) at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.


ALASTAIR JOHN VINCENT HOULE FRENCH (born 1934). R.A.M.C., M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.A. (Eng.).

Alastair John Vincent Houle French (born 1934) [Epsom College 1947-1951] was the son of Dr Alistair Reginald French [Epsom College 1915-1921]. He received his medical education at the London Hospital. He entered the R.A.M.C. as a Captain (Anaesthetics), based at the British Military Hospital, Taiping, Malaysia. He was a member of the Faculty of Anaesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons, and previously a Registrar (Anaesthetics) at the London Hospital.

Alastair David George Gordon (born 1935) [Epsom College 1949-1954. Rugby XV. Carr Prize] was the son of Dr J. A. Gordon, of Kilburn, West London. He received his medical education at the Middlesex Hospital, and went into general practice at Hythe, Southampton. He was Honorary Tutor (Primary Medical Care) at Southampton University Medical School.

Francis Henry Ashley Jago (1935-2011) [Epsom College 1948-1952] was the son of Dr M. E. M. Jago, of Sutton, Surrey. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Truro, Cornwall.


THOMAS GEORGE SCOTT WILSON (born 1935). M.B., B.Ch. (Edin.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Thomas George Scott Wilson (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1953] was the son of Dr George Wilson, of Redditch, Staffordshire. He received his medical education at Edinburgh University, and went into practice at the Cobourg Medical Centre, Cobourg, Ontario, Canada. He was a member of the Scotland Squash Team.


ALEXANDER ROBERTSON HAY HASTIE (born 1935). M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), Ph.D. (Cantab.), D.C.H. (Eng.).

Alexander Robertson Hay Hastie (born 1935) [Epsom College 1949-1954] was the son of Dr A. T. Hastie, of Birmingham. He received his medical education at the Middlesex Hospital. He was appointed to the Medical Research Council Staff attached to the M.R.C. Skin Clinic, at Birmingham University. He was a member of the British Society of Immunology, and the British Allergy Society.

Colin Dieppe Walker (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1953. prefect. Rugby XV] was the son of E. C. Walker, accountant, of Cheam, Surrey. He received his medical education at the Westminster Hospital, and went into general practice at Camberley, Surrey. He was previously a Registrar at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton.

Andrew Ian Stewart Murray (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1953. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr A. J. Murray, M.C., of the Gold Coast (Ghana). He received his medical education at King’s College Hospital, and went into general practice at Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Keith Colin Hammond (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1952. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr R. A. E. Hammond, of Salcombe, Devon, and brother of Michael Stewart Hammond [Epsom College 1950-1953]. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Salcombe, Devon.

Peter Miles Bailey Crookes (born 1935) [Epsom College 1947-1953. Cunning Essay and Murray-Wilson Prizes] was the son of Dr F. R. Crookes, of Eckington, Worcestershire. He received his medical education at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and the Westminster Hospital. He went into general practice at Newark, Nottinghamshire.


GERALD MICHAEL COLEMAN (born 1935). L.R.C.P. (Ire.) and L.M., L.R.C.S. (Ire.) and L.M., L.M. (Rotunda).

Gerald Michael Coleman (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1953] was the son of Dr Arthur Coleman, of Tylorstown, Glamorgan, and brother of Flying Officer Kenneth Maurice Henry Coleman, R.A.F. [Epsom College 1944-1948]. He received his medical education at University College, Dublin and the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin. He went into general practice at Harborne, Birmingham, where he was Vice-Chairman of the Birmingham Local Medical Committee, and Executive Council.

Iain Henderson Blair (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1953] was the son of Dr J. M. Blair, of Darlington, County Durham. He received his medical education at Magdalene College, Cambridge, and the West London Hospital Medical School. He went into general practice at Wetherby, near Leeds, Yorkshire.


NICHOLAS GROSS (born 1935). M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), M.R.C.P. (Lond.).

Nicholas Gross (born 1935) [Epsom College 1947-1954. prefect] was the son of Dr R. D. Gross, of Pahang, Malaysia. He received his medical education at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and Guy’s Hospital. He joined the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago, Illinois, USA.


DAVID WHITTLE KAY (born 1935). B.Sc., M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.F.O.M., D.I.H. (Lond.).

David Whittle Kay (born 1935) [Epsom College 1947-1952] was the son of Dr W. W. Kay, of Epsom. He received his medical education at University College Hospital, and was appointed Medical Director of the Central Middlesex Industrial Health and Safety Service, London. He was a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine, and late Medical Officer for British Leyland Cars (Austin and Rover) at Longbridge, Warwickshire.

Roger Michael John Andrews (born 1935) [Epsom College 1948-1953] was the son of H. J. Andrews, bank official, of Banstead, Surrey. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Highworth, Wiltshire.


ANTHONY THOMAS SWEETNAM (born 1935). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.A. (Eng.).

Anthony Thomas Sweetnam (born 1935) [Epsom College 1947-1953] was the son of Dr N. D. Sweetman, of Manchester. He received his medical education at Leeds University Medical School, and went into general practice at Leeds, Yorkshire, where he was also a Clinical Assistant (Anaesthetics) at Harrogate General Hospital.


ROBERT ALAN FORSTER (1936-2009). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S. (Eng.), F.R.C.P. (Lond.).

Robert Alan Forster (1936-2009) [Epsom College 1949-1955] was the son of Dr C. E. Forster, of Elland, Yorkshire. He went into general practice in Eastbourne, and was the Course Organiser for the Eastbourne General Practice Training Scheme.


DONALD McALLAN HUNTER (born 1936). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Donald McAllan Hunter (born 1936) [Epsom College 1949-1954. prefect. Cricket XI] was the son of Dr Frederick Hunter, of Aberdeen, and brother of Dr Robert James Hunter [Epsom College 1943-1949]. He received his medical education at St Mary’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Thetford, Norfolk.


HUGH McLEAN (born 1936). M.B., B.Ch. (Glas.).

Hugh McLean (born 1936) [Epsom College 1949-1952] was the son of Dr James McLean, of Redcar, North Yorkshire. He received his medical education at Glasgow University Medical School, and went into general practice at High Salvington, Worthing, Sussex.


JOHN MICHAEL TIPPING FORD (born 1936). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.D. (Lond.), D.H.M.S.A., D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

John Michael Tipping Ford (born 1936) [Epsom College 1950-1954] was the son of Dr R. E. Ford, of Purley, Surrey, and brother of Dr Peter George Tipping Ford [Epsom College 1945-1949]. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Tonbridge, Kent. He was the Medical Historian for St Thomas’s Hospital, and Medical Officer for Tonbridge School.


JEREMY JOHN DAVID BARTLETT (born 1936). M.B., B.S. (Lond.).

Jeremy John David Bartlett (born 1936) [Epsom College 1950-1954] was the son of George Bartlett, H.M. Foreign Service, of Blackheath, Kent. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. His address given in the Medical Directory is: Diocese of Marsabit Development Office, PO Box 281, Nanyuki, Kenya. No other details found.

Anthony Haig Sarafian (born 1936) [Epsom College 1950-1955] was the son of Dr D. H. Sarafian, of Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, and brother of Arthur Mihael Haig Sarafian [Epsom College 1947-1952]. He received his medical education at the Middlesex Hospital, and went into general practice at The Health Centre, West Walk, Bristol, and formerly at Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire.


JOHN HAWORTH SHELDON (born 1936). M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G., J.P.

John Haworth Sheldon (born 1936) [Epsom College 1949-1954] was the son of Dr G. C. Sheldon, of Reigate, Surrey. He received his medical education at Clare College, Cambridge, and King’s College Hospital. He went into general practice at Reigate, Surrey, but sometime later moved to Canada where he was appointed District Medical Officer for the Central East Regional Health Care Board, Newfoundland.


RICHARD WARING TAYLOR (born 1936). M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G., M.R.C.G.P.

Richard Waring Taylor (born 1936) [Epsom College 1949-1954. Pendlebury Prize] was the son of Dr G. W. Taylor, of Leicester. He received his medical education at Clare College, Cambridge, and the Westminster Hospital. He went into general practice at Leicester (1965-1996), and was the Medical Officer for the British Schools Exploring Society trip to Kyrghyzstan.


NICHOLAS PAUL De MORGAN (born 1936). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), M.D., D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Nicholas Paul De Morgan (born 1936) [Epsom College 1949-1955. prae.schol. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr H. A. De Morgan, of Douglas, Isle of Man. He received his medical education at the Middlesex Hospital, and was appointed Instructor in Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Centre, New York, USA. He then went into Family Practice with Kaiser Permanente at Hilsboro, Oregon. Nicholas De Morgan was a direct descendent of William De Morgan (1839-1917), the most important ceramic artist of the Arts and Crafts Movement.


JOHN JULIUS KIMERLING (born 1937). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.P. (Lond.).

John Julius Kimerling (born 1937) [Epsom College 1950-1954. Rugby XV. Mrs Major Geography Prize] was the son of Dr Gustaw Kimerling, of Lwow, Poland. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice in Kensington, London, where he was also Clinical Assistant in the Department of Rheumatology at Charing Cross Hospital.


STEPHEN ANTHONY GOODWIN (born 1937). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

Stephen Anthony Goodwin (born 1937) [Epsom College 1950-1954] was the son of Dr S. R. Goodwin, of Evesham, Worcestershire. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital. He was a Medical Examiner for the Civil Aviation Authority, Airport Medical Services, Gatwick Airport, London, and Medical Adviser for the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA). He was previously in general practice at Wickham, Kent, and then a Medical Officer at RAF Changi, Singapore.


EDWARD FRANCIS HENDERSON MOLL (born 1937). M.B., Ch.B. (Leeds), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Edward Francis Henderson Moll (born 1937) [Epsom College 1950-1954] was the son of Dr H. H. Moll, of Otley, Yorkshire. He received his medical education at Leeds University Medical School, and went into general practice at Pocklington, Yorkshire. He was the Senior Medical Officer at Beverley Racecourse.

Francis Patrick Tyrwhitt Drake (born 1937) [Epsom College 1950-1954] was the son of Dr F. B. T. T. Drake, of Clapham, South London. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and went into practice at Billabong Creek, Parkes, New South Wales, Australia.

Peter James Nicklin (born 1937) [Epsom College 1950-1954] was the son of Dr Reginald Nicklin, of Northern Rhodesia [Zambia). He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and was appointed Medical Officer for the Roan Antelope Copper Mine, Luanshya, Zambia.

Bruce Gordon Mein (born 1937) [Epsom College 1951-1956] was the son of Dr A. B. G. Mein, of Streetly, Staffordshire. He received his medical education at Birmingham University Medical School, and went into general practice at Shepton Mallett, Somerset.


TIMOTHY ROBERT WYKES (born 1937). M.A. (Dublin), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), L.M.C.C.

Timothy Robert Wykes (born 1937) [Epsom College 1951-1956] was the son of Dr Harold William Wykes, M.B.E., of Quorn, Leicestershire [Epsom College 1920-1924]. He received his medical education at Trinity College, Dublin, and was appointed Chief Medical Officer, Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service (Merchant Navy).

Richard Ainlie Firth (born 1937) [Epsom College 1951-1955] was the son of H. W. Firth, engineer, of Guildford, Surrey. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Wokingham, Berkshire.

Keith Stewart Young (born 1937) [Epsom College 1949-1954. prefect. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr Matthew Young, of Esher, Surrey. He received his medical education at Queen’s College, Cambridge University, and University College Hospital. He went into general practice at Kesgrave, Ipswich, Suffolk.


MICHAEL STEEL BERKELEY VAILE (born 1937). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G., D.A. (Eng.), F.F.P.H.M. (UK), M.R.C.G.P., F.R.C.P. (Lond.).

Michael Steel Berkeley Vaile (born 1937) [Epsom College 1950-1952] was the son of Dr John Douglas Berkeley Vaile [Epsom College 1921-1930]. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and was appointed Director of Public Health Medicine for the West Kent Health Authority. He was previously in general practice, and before that was a Registrar (Anaesthetics) at St Thomas’s Hospital.


DENIS RODNEY LOUIS TERRENCE O’DONNELL (born 1938). M.B., B.Ch. (Nat.Univ.Ireland), B.A.O.

Denis Rodney Louis Terrence O’Donnell (born 1938) [Epsom College 1950-1955] was the son of Dr D. R. O’Donnell, of Putney, South London. He received his medical education at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and went into general practice at Wokingham, Berkshire.


MICHAEL JOHN BOYD NICHOLSON (born 1937). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., (Eng.), M.R.C.P. (Lond.)

Michael John Boyd Nicholson (born 1937) [Epsom College 1951-1956. Cunning Essay Prize] was the son of Surgeon Captain Charles Boyd Nicholson, R.N. [Epsom College 1913-1920], and brother of Robert Charles Nicholson [Epsom College 1952-1955]. He received his medical education at the Middlesex Hospital, and went into practice at Condobolin, New South Wales, Australia.


JOHN HOPE CARLTON (born 1938). M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

John Hope Carlton (born 1938) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of C. H. Carlton, M.C., F.R.C.S., of Finchley, North London, and brother of Charles Hope Carlton [Epsom College 1953-1955]. He received his medical education at St Mary’s Hospital, and went into general practice at King’s Lynn, Norfolk, where he was also a Clinical Assistant (Dermatology) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn.


JAMES ROGER LEIGHTON THOMAS (born 1938). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

James Roger Leighton Thomas (born 1938) [Epsom College 1951-1955. Rugby XV] was the son of Dr W. E. Thomas, of Ammanford, Dyfed. He received his medical education at St Thomas’s Hospital, and was appointed Medical Officer to the International Maritime Organisation; Medical Adviser for Ernst and Young Occidental International Oil Inc, and Examining Physician for the United Nations London Dockland Development Corporation and Solaglas Ltd. He was a member of the Surrey County Rugby XV.


IAN McKIM THOMPSON (born 1938). M.B., B.Ch. (Birmingham).

Ian McKim Thompson (born 1938) [Epsom College 1951-1955] was the son of J. W. Thompson, bank manager, of Solihull, Warwickshire. He received his medical education at Birmingham University Medical School, and was appointed Deputy Secretary of the British Medical Association. He was an Honorary Member of the Medical Colleges of Spain; a Member of the General Medical Council, and a Vice-President of the Independent Medico-Legal Practitioners Unit of the British Medical Association.


JAMES ERSKINE (born 1938). M.A., M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.).

James Erskine (born 1938) [Epsom College 1951-1955] was the son of J. T. Erskine, of Doncaster, South Yorkshire. He received his medical education at Cambridge University, and University College Hospital. He went into general practice at Clos de Carteret, Cobo, Guernsey, where he was also on the Medical Staff of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, Guernsey, and Medical Officerat the King Edward VII Hospital, Guernsey. He was previously a Major in the R.A.M.C.

Stephen Wilfrid Garland (born 1938) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Dr Geoffrey Garland, of Rottingdean, Sussex. He received his medical education at the London Hospital Medical College, and went into general practice at Brighton, Sussex.

Charles Anthony Hill (born 1938) [Epsom College 1951-1955] was the son of C. S. Hill, schoolmaster, of Banstead, Surrey. He received his medical education at the Westminster Hospital, and went into general practice at Old Windsor, Berkshire. He was a member of the Windsor Medical Society.


JEREMY VIKRAM WILLIAM JOHNSTONE (born 1938). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Jeremy Vikram William Johnstone (born 1938) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Colonel Robert Johnstone, A.M.S., of Longwick, Buckinghamshire. He received his medical education in London, and went into general practice at Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.

John Llewelyn Rees (born 1938) [Epsom College 1952-1956] was the son of Dr Llewelyn Rees, of Cardiff. He received his medical education at Clare College, Cambridge, and St Thomas’s Hospital. He went into general practice at Wiveliscombe, near Taunton, Somerset, where he was also the Disability Analyst for the Benefits Agency.


DAVID LATHAM (born 1938). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.).

David Latham (born 1938) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Dr Thomas Latham, of Sutton, Surrey. He received his medical education at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Belmont, Sutton, Surrey. He was a member of the Society of Occupational Medicine, and previously Medical Officer at Qacha’s Nek Hospital, Lesotho, and Chest Physician (Hospital Practitioner Grade) for the Croydon Health Authority.


MICHAEL JOHN NICKLIN (born 1938). M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.I.H. (Eng.).

Michael John Nicklin (born 1938) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Dr Reginald Nicklin, of Northern Rhodesia (Zambia), and brother of Dr Peter James Nicklin [Epsom College 1950-1954]. He received his medical education at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and the London Hospital. He went into general practice at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.


JOHN MEREDITH HUGHES (born 1938). M.A., M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

John Meredith Hughes (born 1938) [Epsom College 1951-1955] was the son of Dr I. M. Hughes, of Edenbridge, Kent. He received his medical education at Cambridge University, and Guy’s Hospital. He went into general practice at Cuddesdon, Oxfordshire. He was previously the Senior Hospital Officer for the American Red Cross Hospital, Paris, and a Surgeon for the Union Castle Steamship Line, on HMS Stirling Castle.

Richard James Farrow (born 1938) [Epsom College 1951-1955] was the son of J. A. Farrow, accountant, of Leeds. He received his medical education at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, and went into general practice at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. He was a member of the Colchester Medical Society.


RICHARD BERNARD WALLIS BLAXILL (born 1939). M.A., M.B., B.Ch. (Cantab.), D.A. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Richard Bernard Wallis Blaxill (born 1939) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Dr Bernard Blaxill, of Solihull, and brother of Dr John Wallis Blaxill [Epsom College 1943-1948]. He received his medical education at Christ’s College, Cambridge, and St Thomas’s Hospital. He went into general practice in Norwich but later emigrated to Australia and took up general practice, with anaestheticsas a specialty, at Cowdra, New South Wales. He later joined a practice in Port McQuarie, New South Wales. He was a member of the Cambridge University Athletics Team, and held the British Junior 120 yards and 200 yards Hurdles Records, as well as the Public Schools’ 120 yards Hurdles Record.


PAUL FREDERICK SIEVERS (born 1939). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.C.H. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Paul Frederick Sievers (born 1939) [Epsom College 1952-1956. Cricket XI] was the son of A. F. Sievers, banker, of Totteridge, Middlesex. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Newbury, Berkshire. He was a member of the Newbury Medical Society. Following medical qualification, Paul Sievers worked as a ship’s doctor in the Merchant Navy with the P & O Line. He was President of the Old Epsomian Club.


JOHN CAMPBELL ANDERSON (born 1939). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G., D.A. (Eng.), M.R.C.P. (Lond.), F.R.C.P. (Canada), M.R.C.G.P.

John Campbell Anderson (born 1939) [Epsom College 1952-1956] was the son of Dr P. C. Anderson, of Kingswood, Surrey. He received his medical education at the London Hospital, and went into general practice at Sidmouth, Devon. He was previously a Surgeon for the Union Castle Steamship Company, and a Medical Registrar at the Royal Free Hospital. He was a member of the New Zealand Medical Association, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.


PATRICK McCORMICK DONALD ANDERSON (born 1939). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.A. (Eng.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G., D.C.H. (Eng.).

Patrick McCormick Donald Anderson (born 1939) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Dr P. H. R. Anderson, of Banstead, Surrey. He received his medical education at Guy’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Caversham, Reading, Berkshire. He was the General Practice Course Organiser at the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre, Reading, and previously a Nuffield Practitioner of the British Postgraduate Medical Federation.


RODNEY TEMPLE TATE (born 1939). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

Rodney Temple Tate (born 1939) [Epsom College 1952-1957] was the son of Wing Commander D. T. Tate, L.D.S., R.A.F. He received his medical education at St Mary’s Hospital, and went into general practice at Hove, Sussex.


PETER ANTHONY ANDERSEN (born 1939). M.B., B.S. (Lond.), M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (Eng.), D.C.H. (Eng.).

Peter Anthony Andersen (born 1939) [Epsom College 1954-1958] was the son of Dr D. A. Andersen, of the Salvation Army, Oslo. He received his medical education at Magdalen College, Oxford, and University College Hospital. He was appointed Medical Administrator of the Health Centre at University College, London, and was previously a Clinical Assistant at Paddington Green Children’s Hospital. He was a member of the Medical Journalist’s Association, Deputy Editor of the British Journal of Hospital Medicine, and author of the section on ‘Health’ in Chambers Encyclopaedia Yearbook (1972).


DAVID TREVELYAN JONES (born 1939). M.B., B.Ch. (Cardiff), M.R.C.G.P., D.Obst.R.C.O.G.

David Trevelyan Jones (born 1939) [Epsom College 1952-1957. French Prize] was the son of Dr R. T. Jones, of Wolverhampton, West Midlands. He received his medical education at Cardiff University School of Medicine, and went into general practice at Grangetown, Cardiff. He was a member of the Cardiff Medical Society.
