Merit scholarships/Need-based financial aid: yes to both and guaranteed for four years – FAFSA required, filing deadline Feb 1st. 99% of students are on some form of financial assistance.

  • Most popular, new or unique majors: Most popular are engineering, business, psychology, health sciences. Unique programs include studies of entrepreneurship, leadership, Native American culture and history, and sport management. New programs in art history (minor), computer science and computational thinking (interdisciplinary program combining courses from computer science, math, and humanities), solidarity and social justice (minor). In general, over 75 academic programs under five schools.

  • Student Life: NCAA Division I athletics; ranked 3rd for intramural participation; over 100 clubs with no Greek life; students contribute over 70,000 hours in community service each year; cultural clubs very popular (e.g., La Raza, Black Student Union, Hawaii Pacific Islander Club and more); GU Outdoors organizes at least one activity every weekend of each semester as well as a ski bus every Saturday to one of five resorts in a 2 hour radius.
