Atlanta Motor Speedway Shines Light On Holiday Season

First Annual Gift of Lights Drive Through Spectacle
ATLANTA — November 2, 2011 — Atlanta Motor Speedway is holding its first ever drive through light display at the historic track. The Gift of Lights display is 1.5 miles of LED lights that will bring the holiday spirit to the fastest track on the NASCAR circuit. The display opens November 18 and runs through January 1 including Christmas day.

Children and adults of all ages will enjoy this new holiday tradition as they drive through the high banks of Atlanta Motor Speedway. The exciting new light display will feature many of the season’s favorite characters including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. Atlanta Motor Speedway has been working vigorously throughout the past couple of months to make it the best holiday light display in Georgia. The dashing new lights are eco-friendly and you will not want to miss this spectacle!

3 Dudes Productions and Winterland, Inc. has teamed up with the speedway to bring people from across the southeast to view the light show. Speedway Children’s Charities, an organization that supports children in educational, financial, social, and medical need, will benefit from the Gift of Lights. The Gift of Lights will also be a Toys for Tots location drop off site. Visitors who donate a toy will be given a discount into the Gift of Lights display.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is expecting around 25,000 cars to visit this season, bringing 120,000 visitors to the light spectacle. It is $15 per car and the first 15,000 vehicles to drive through will receive a gift bag. The Gift of Lights will be open Sunday –Thursday 6 p.m.-9 p.m., and then Friday and Saturday 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
