Hey there Professor,

I was poking around to see how Corvallis stacked up creativity-wise, and apparently the study was done again in 2012 with Corvallis rising to rank 7! Hope you have a nice weekend.

Dear Ed,
Here's an (attached) update of the earlier creativity index mentioned

(which I sent to you, Ilene, and Ron Adams 'way back in 2004). Enjoy!

Jonathan,

When one gets old, one forgets things. Where did Corvallis rank in 2004?

Ed
Ed,
I'm impressed you remember what you forgot!
Corvallis was tied with Atlanta for 15th place back in 2004.
BTW, having designed and taught several classes on creativity back when, I have been struck how various pundits emphasize one or maybe two dimensions while ignoring others. Over the years, I put together a little visual (attached) identifying 5 (so far) dimensions of innovation. Sam Stern - remember him? - thought it was pretty good....  (I think the index is misnamed. Arguably 95%+ of creative ideas go nowhere. When they do, they are better termed "innovations.")

Jonathan
Jonathan,

I really like the diagram and yes I remember Sam.
