FOR HURRICANES @ THRASHERS ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 4

Telecasts to Feature “Swap the Announcers” Period during the Second


FSN South and SportSouth invite viewers to go behind enemy lines when the Carolina Hurricanes visit the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday, January 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET. During the second period, Thrashers analyst Darren Eliot will join Hurricanes play-by-play announcer John Forslund in the FSN South booth to provide Hurricanes fans with a unique perspective on the growing regional rivalry between the two teams. Similarly, Hurricanes analyst Tripp Tracy will join Thrashers play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera in the booth for the Thrashers telecast on SportSouth.
“As broadcast partner for both the Hurricanes and the Thrashers, we at FSN South and SportSouth have the unique opportunity to provide a different and innovative perspective for our viewers by ‘swapping’ analysts for the second period of Friday’s game,” said Hammond Reynolds, executive producer for FSN South and SportSouth. “Thrashers fans will be treated to Tripp’s perspective on the Hurricanes during the SportSouth telecast, while Hurricanes fans will get inside scoop on the Thrashers from Darren on FSN South.”
The Hurricanes telecast on FSN South will be available in Raleigh on Time Warner channel 50, DirecTV channel 630 and Dish Network channel 420. In the Atlanta metro area, the Thrashers telecast on SportSouth will be available on Comcast channel 53, DirecTV channel 631 and Dish Network channel 437. Cable subscribers in other areas should check local listings for availability and channel numbers.
