Student Government

Policy & Procedure
Applicability:

The Game Day Program is a component of Student Government that works with the Department of Athletics and Student Affairs to coordinate activities on the Florida Atlantic University Game Day. These activities have been created to further engage students in the FAU football experience, highlighting new opportunities for students in their own Owl Stadium. This program has been put in to place in conjunction with the donation of funds to the Stadium by FAU Student Government.


Program Detail:

The Game Day Program will include the following opportunities for students:



  1. Sideline Pass opportunity- Up to 10 day of game Sideline Passes will be distributed to students.

  2. Priority Level Club Seating Experience- 150 seats will be distributed in the Priority Level Club Seating area to students. Each student who wins may bring one fellow-student guest.

  3. Bus Transportation to game- for students on the Treasure Coast, Jupiter & Davie campuses to get to the game.


Procedure:

Selection of Student Winners of Priority Club Seats and Sideline Passes:

  1. Any currently registered FAU student will have the opportunity to register for a chance to win a Sideline Pass or a Priority Club ticket once per football season. If they win a Sideline Pass they will not be eligible to win a Priority Club ticket; if they win a Priority Club Seating Experience, they will not be eligible to win a Sideline Pass.

  2. Students will register for the opportunity to win these Game Day opportunities through MyFAU. After a student registers once, they will be entered into compete for the Priority Club ticket or sideline pass and stay in the competition until they win or the season ends.

  3. Once a student registers through MyFAU, they will be entered into a database that assigns anonymous random numbers. The system will allow for students to register once per football season. The system will select 160 winners anonymously a week before game day.

  4. Once winners are selected and notified, they will have until 30 minutes before the start of game to pick up their ticket or sideline pass. After that time passes, if a student’s ticket is not picked up, a runner-up will receive the ticket or sideline pass.

  5. Students who are on the runner-up list will be notified about their status as a “runner-up” and can wait at the pick-up table to see if they have will receive a ticket. If they do not receive a ticket, they will be put back in the lottery system for future games.

  6. Any students who register for these Game Day opportunities and do NOT win will stay in the lottery for the Game Day Opportunities until they win or until the football season is over.


Distribution of Priority Club Seats & Sideline Passes:

  1. Priority Club Seats:

  1. Priority Club Seats will be available for pick-up on the day of the game at the Student Government Welcome table located outside the Stadium.

  2. Tickets must be picked up no later than 30 minutes before the start of the game.

  3. A valid FAU card must be shown in order to pick-up a ticket.

  4. If a student does not pick up their Priority Club Seat ticket 30 minutes before the start of the game, they will not be able to utilize the ticket and the ticket will go to a student who is on the runner-up list.

  5. If a student wins a ticket and fails to show up to get the ticket, they will not be eligible to win future tickets.

  6. Students who do not have the ability to pick-up their Priority Level Club Seat by the designated time, will need to contact the Director of Student Government for assistance.




  1. Sideline Passes:

  1. Sideline Passes will be available for pick-up on the day of the game at the Student Government Welcome table located outside the Stadium.

  2. Students must pick up their Sideline passes no later than 45 minutes before the start of the game..

  3. Students who win a sideline pass must sign a general university liability waiver before participation.

  4. Students who do not have the ability to pick-up their pass by the designated time, will need to contact the Director of Student Government for assistance.

  5. If a student wins a sideline pass and fails to show up to get the sideline pass, they will not be eligible to win future sideline passes.

  6. Students who win a sideline pass still must secure a ticket to the game from general student admission.

  7. Students who do not have the ability to pick-up their sideline pass by the designated time, will need to contact the Director of Student Government for assistance.



General Expectations of Winners

  1. Students who win any Game Day opportunity will be charged for the item that they win if they are found to give away or sell these items to any other individual.

  2. Students who receive any Game Day opportunity are expected to behave in a manner that best reflects Florida Atlantic University and to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct and all university regulations & policies. Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in a referral to the Dean of Students office.

  3. Students who receive Game Day Sideline passes will be expected to dress in appropriate clothing (no shorts or gym clothes) and wear the SG Game Day shirt.

  4. Students should not interfere with any game operations and to remain standing at all time during the game.

  5. Students who received Game Day Sideline passes must meet the Director of Student Government or designee at the gate near the northeast side of the home team sideline no later than 30 minutes before game start.


Game Day Buses

  1. Game Day buses will pick up students and transport them to the FAU Boca Raton Campus.

        1. One bus will pick up students at the Treasure Coast Campus.

        2. A second bus will pick up students on the MacArthur Campus.

        3. A third bus will pick up on the Davie Campus for Broward students.

  1. Buses will pick up on each campus no later than 3 hours before game time.

  2. They will drop off at:TBD.

  3. Athletics will coordinate the bus reservations for each game and send over contact information & parking passes for each game.

  4. The decision to increase or decrease bus transportation will be determined and agreed upon by the Athletics Director or designee and Director of Student Government or designee in advance of a particular game.

  5. If a second bus is ever needed for a game day, the campus requesting a second bus must incur the costs of that bus.

  6. The Student Government advisors will create marketing materials and advertise the buses for each game.

  7. Students must sign-up to ride the bus no later than the Wednesday at 5pm before the home game.

  8. Athletics will partner with SG on MYFAU announcements and social media announcements so that students are aware of this opportunity.

  9. Students must show a valid Owl Card in order to ride the bus. A sign-in sheet will be circulated on the way to the game and on the return route from game. Student Government staff will keep these sign-in sheets so that these students can receive later announcements regarding game buses.

  10. The only game that non-FAU students may ride the bus will be the annual Owl Family Weekend game.

Marketing of Game Day Program:



  1. This program will be marketed through various avenues including but not limited to:

  1. My FAU

  2. SG Website (a tab will be created titled “Game Day at FAU.”)

  3. Athletics Website

  4. FAU Announcements to Students

  5. FAU.COM

  6. Collegiate Link

  7. Social Media: Facebook, Twitter

  1. Student Government will have the ability to submit slides regarding SG and the Game Day Program to the Department of Athletics through the Director of Student Government. Slides will be sent to Athletics no later than the Monday before Game Day

  2. Banners for Game Day and Student Government will be produced and distributed to campuses.
