920 (MENDELSOHN, ERIC) A group of photographs relating to Mendelsohn’s Einstein Tower, Potsdam. 23 original photographic prints, trimmed and drymounted on 15 sheets of stiff rag board. Image sizes range from 105 x 155 mm. to (187 x 272 mm. (ca. 4 1/8 x 6 1/8 inches to 7 3/8 x 10 3/4 inches). Most of the photographs depict the exterior of Tower from various angles, but they also include 4 interior views, and 5 plans, as well as a comparative detail of Gaudí’s Casa Mila. Some of the photographs may have been made from printed reproductions; others appear to be vintage prints. A few of the images with tears consolidated by the mounting; others somewhat discolored, possibly during development.
