GENESYS dispatches in a chronological order over four dispatch time frames¹³. It dispatches for the month, a user defined “window” of days, daily shape, and hourly. The thermal and hydro resources are dispatched to meet loads in each dispatch time frame according to the variable costs of the thermal and hydro. The hydro variable costs are represented relative to the variable costs of particular thermal plants, as defined by the user¹⁴.
