Randall’s Island – New York
The Randall’s Island is located in the New York City, the United States. It is considered as a part of the borough of Manhattan and that is why it is operated by the same body. The area of the island is around 2.2 sq. km. and it has a population of about 1,386 people. The island was originally owned by a Dutch Governor, Wouter Van Twiller in 1637. However, after passing through different hands, the island was used for the purposes of accommodating orphan and idiot asylums, hospitals and reform schools in the 19th century. In 1992, Randall’s Island Sports Foundation came into being. The foundation was a result of public-private partnership. The idea behind founding this partnership was to maintain the natural environment of the Randall’s Island and to provide the facilities for the sports and recreational activities. As a result, the island is home to a number of sports activities now.
Riverside Park – New York
The location of Riverside Park is in Manhattan, the New York City, in the United States. It is a beautiful waterfront park which stretches over an area of 266,791 acres and faces the Hudson River. The construction of the Riverside Park began in 1872. Its first designer was Frederick Law Olmsted. Later on, Calvert Vaux, Samuel Parsons and Robert Moses also provided their services for the construction and designing of the park from time to time. There are some of the renowned monuments in the Riverside Park such as the Joan of Arc statue, the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and the Eleanor Roosevelt Monument etc. The park also provides a number of courts and playing areas for different kinds of sports. The Riverside Park is a big attraction for visitors not just from New York, but from around the world as well.

Rockefeller Center – New York
Rockefeller Center has its location in the New York City, the United States. It is composed of 19 commercial buildings and the center stretches over an area of almost 22 acres. The center got its name from its founder, John D. Rockefeller, Junior, who had leased its present land from the Columbia University for building an opera house in 1928. Later on, he changed his plan and started the huge project of these commercial buildings, which was completed in 1939. Raymond Hood served as its main architect and gave it a design of Art Deco style. The complex of Rockefeller Center also includes some of the other famous buildings such as Radio City Music Hall and GE building etc. Various major organizations and banks are the tenants of Rockefeller Plaza. The center was added in the list of National Register of Historic Places as well as the National Historic Landmark in 1987.

Rockefeller Park – New York
One of the popular State Parks of the United States is the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, which is located in the Sleepy Hollow, New York. The park has also been nicknamed as the Rockies. The land of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve was granted by the Rockefeller family in 1983. It stretches over an area of 1,233 acre and also has a 24 acre Swan Lake. The park is used for a number of recreational activities such as jogging, running, walking, sport-fishing, horse riding and bird watching. The Rockefeller Park is located right next to the Hudson River, which adds to its beauty and gives many scenic views in the park. The park includes sites like dense forest, wetlands, and open meadows etc. which make the park very rich in wild life and it serves as a natural habitat to more than 180 bird species.

Rose Center for Earth and Space
The complete name of the Rose Center for Earth and Space is The Frederick Phineas and Sandra Priest Rose Center for Earth and Space. Its location is in the New York City, the United States. The center is one of the most popular component of the American Museum of Natural History. The architects to design the Rose Center were James Stewart Polshek and Todd H. Schliemann of Polshek Partnership Architects, while Ralph Appelbaum Associates contributed to the design of its exhibition. The Rose Center is an extension of the idea of Hayden Planterium which was originally given in 1935. The center has an 87 foot diameter Hayden Sphere, which is surrounded by glass walls of almost seven story building height in a cube shape. The top half of this Hayden Sphere is the Space Theater and is dedicated for space shows, while the lower half is confined for the Big Bang Theater. The Rose Center commenced its public exhibitions since February 2000.

Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art
Although the Rubin Museum is located near Manhattan, New York City, the United States, but it is famous for its collection of the Himalayan and Tibetan works of art. This special feature of its contribution for the preservation and exhibition of Himalayan art solely gives the museum its name as Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art. The idea of establishing this museum was originally conceived by Donald Rubin and his wife Shelley. The couple had already been an active collector of Himalayan art since 1974 privately. So in order to exhibit and enhance their collection for the public, they founded this museum in 2004. The six story building was purchased for 22 million dollars by Donald Rubin in 1998. The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art not only displays textiles, paintings and sculptures, but its exhibitions also include various Tibetan ritual based objects from the preceding centuries.

Socrates Sculpture Park
Socrates Sculpture Park is an entertainment as well as an outdoor exhibition park in the New York City of United States. Its exact location is near the neighborhood of Long Island City, Queens in New York. The area of park was actually an abandoned riverside landfill. It was in 1986, that some artists, led by Mark di Suvero, who was a sculptor himself, turned the landfill site into an outdoor exhibition site of sculptures. The park is basically an outdoor museum, but it is also used for different other purposes such as an outdoor cinema, live music concerts, picnic point, fine arts and yoga classes etc. Artists who work on various sites in the park are paid residency by the park authorities, and they also get a chance to exhibit their work on a larger scale. The artistic works displayed in the park are changed after almost 6 months period. The park also offers a refreshing view of lush green grass, trees and East River.

SoHo


Located in the neighbourhood of New York Cityborough of Manhattan in the United States, SoHo was formerly known as “Hell's Hundred Acres”. SoHo is an acronym for South of Houston Street. In mid 20’s it was filled with industries and factories but then artists started to move here to have spacious places, both to live and to work. It was because of the artist’s organization, in 1968, that the neighbourhood got its name SoHo. The area shows social, cultural and architectural developments. There are approximately 250 Cast-Iron buildings in New York City and most of them are in SoHo that’s why it is also known as “SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District. The neighbourhood is nearly always crowded by the tourists and the street vendors selling jewellery, t-shirts and other works.

Garment District

New York City is very well known for its role in fashion industry because the industry located there earns $14 billion anually. The heart of the industry is the Manhattan’s Garment District and is approximately one square mile in area. It is located between Fifth and Ninth Avenues from 34th to 42nd Street. Here the majority of the city’s fashion work is done, from labelling to production and wholesaling. Almost one third of all the clothing manufacted in US is produced in Garment District. New York’s inclination towards fashion started in 1820s when they started making clothes for the slaves working on Southern plantations. Making of ready-made garments became industrialized with the invention of sewing machines in 1850s. By the end of 1860s, every American bought their clothings instead of making it themselves.

Theatre District


Theatre District is located in Midtown Manhattan. It is sometimes referred to as “Midtown West”. Most of the Broadway theatres are situated here, alongwith many other theatres, movie theatres, hotels, restuarants and other entertainment places. The Broadway Theatre is popular tourist attraction and it has a capacity of 500 people. It is spread from 40th Street to 54th Street and also includes Times Square. The enchanting lights of Times Square and the amazing neon signs really attract the tourists. A few blocks from here, on 42nd Street, the famous wax museum called Madam Tussauds, is located. Theatre Row is an area on 42nd street from Nineth Avenue to Eleventh Avenue, can be considered to be an extension of Theatre District but officially it’s not the part of it. Theatre District provides entertainment to everyone with its fabuluos theatres and other amusements.

Roller Coaster at New York


Formerly know as “Manhattan Express”, the roller coaster opened in January, 1997. It was built by TOGO. Initially the ride was uncomfortable and even painful. Some riders got bruises on their shoulders due to the old train and negative gravitational force. But in 2004 Premier Rides installed magnetic brakes and furthermore installed new trains to replace the origonal TOGO tarins. After the new installations the ride has been noticably smoother. The roller coaster is 4,777 ft long with maximum 203 ft height. A 480-foot lifts signals the start of the ride which is immediately met by a 76-foot drop. The drop is followed by a hill and a further 144-foot drop and then the riders experience the joy of loops, corkscrews and hills, speeding up to 67 miles per hour. The ride also performs a 180 degree spiral. This ride attracted many tourists attraction and more than one million visitors enjoy the ride each year.

Sloan-Kettering Center


Slaon-Kettering Center is a cancer treatment and research center which was founded in 1884. This center is actually a combination of two closely related institutes, namely Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases. It is currently led by Dr. Thomas Kelly. Slaon-Kettering Center was the first one to lead in the field if cancer treatment, chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy. From the report of U.S. News & World Report, this center is ranked no.2 in the country for cancer treatment. There are 437 beds in the hospital and in 2006, 21,179 patient were admitted. Then in the summer of 2006, a new surgical center opened with 21 operating rooms. This huge hospital is providing every possible treatment for the cancer patients. The current president of Memorial Sloan–Kettering is Harold E. Varmus, who is a Nobel Prize winner.

Bryant Park


Byrant Park is a beautiful park located New York Cityborough of Manhattan. Fifth AvenueSixth Avenue, 40th Street and 42nd Street surrounds it. It is spread over an area of 9.603 acre (39,000 m²).The central building of the New York Public Library is in this park. In 1823, Byrant Park was designed as the graveyard for poor and remained so till 1840. Then the bodies were removed and the first site at the park opened in 1847. It was named as “Reservoir square”. In 1853 the first American World Exposition was held in Crystal Palace which is an amazing glass construction in the park. Nearly 800 people visit the park daily, which include workers, visitors and tourist. This makes the park most occupied park in the world. One of the park’s most magnificent features is the lagre lawn.

Lincoln Center


Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a complex of buildings spread over an area of 16.3-acre (6.6 ha) in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of New York City's Upper West Side. It was built under the initiative of John D. Rockefeller III. It was inaugurated by Rockefelleri in 1956 who futher became its president in 1961. This center is famous for its performing arts and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. serves three primary purposes which are; sponsor of artistic programming, national leader in education and arts and manages the Lincoln Center Campus. In July 2008, LCPA annouced that it’s going to join the publishing company John Wiley & Sons  to publish books on performing arts. The Lincoln Center includes Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, The Metropolitan Opera House, David H. Koch Theater, Vivian Beaumont Theater and many more. All are very spacious and seats thousands of audience.

Nassau Coliseum


The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Uniondale, New York. It is located approximately 19 miles (31 km) east of New York City on Long Island. It is commonly known as Nassau Coliseum or simply The Coliseum. It opened in 1972 and is spread over 3 acres (250,000 m2) of Mitchel Field. The Coliseum first had a capacity of 12,000 to 15,000 but it was increased to 18,000 and presently it seats 16,250 for hockey, up to 17,760 for concerts and 17,686 for boxing and professional wrestling. From 1989-2003 New York Saints of the National Lacrosse League was the active team but it became inactive in 2004. The field has hosted many live wrestling events and also hosed WWE televison shows. Its renovation is expected to begin in 2010.

New York Public Library


New York Public Library is one of the largest public library in United States and is among the biggest researchs library system in the world. It was first opened in 1911. Its construction began by the generous contribution of $2.4 million by Samuel J. Tilden. Two libraries already existed in New York when its construction began. These are Astor and Lexox Libraries. When it opened, it was home for over one million books but now it has expanded to make room for 44,160,825 items out of which 5,985,192 are books. The New York Public library has its branches in the boroughs of Manhattan, The Bronx and Staten Island. It consists of 87 libraries presently: four non-lending research libraries, four main lending libraries, a library for the blind and physically challenged, and 77 neighborhood branch libraries.

Financial District


The Financial District, New York is located in the neighbourhood of the southermost section of borough of Manhattan. It is sometimes called “FiDi”. This District comprises of many offices and different headquaters. From the major financial institutions it includes New York Stock Exchange and theFederal Reserve Bank of New York. It has a residential population of about 56,000 which increases to 300,000 during the day time. The heart of Financial District is considered to be the corner of Wall Street and Vroad Street. Precedently, this neighbourhood was considered to be a daytime place for traders and workers from around the New York City but now it has growing number of permanent residents. Due to many amusement places here, it is also attracting many tourists.

Lincoln Tunnel


Lincoln Tunnel is constructed under the Hudson River and it connects WeehawkenNew Jersey and the borough of Manhattan in New York City. It is 1.5-mile (2.4 km) long. The tunnel was designed by Ole Singstad and, with the New Deal's Public Works Administration’s fund, its construction began on the first tube in March 1934. The tunnel costed $85,000,000 and was opened to public on December 22, 1937. The origonal design included two tubes. Work on the second tube came to stop in 1938 but again started1941. Due to the shortage of metal in world war, its completion got delayed for two years. It finally opened on February 1, 1945. Due to increased traffic, a third tube was proposed which opened on May 25, 1957.

Woolworth Building

Woolworth Building is one of the oldest and a maneficient skyscraper in New York City. From 1913 to 1930 it was the world’s tallest building. It costed $13,500,000. It is 792 ft (241 m) high. Even after being more than 50 years, it is the still one of the fifty tallest buildings in United States and one of the twenty tallest buildings in New York City. It was constructed by architect Cass Gilbert and was equipped by Frank Woolworth in 1910. It opened to public on April 24, 1913. Its structure is of Neo-Gothic style. It is a tourist attracted building and really famous for its architecture. During the opening ceremony it was labelled Cathedral of Commerce by the Reverend S. Parkes Cadman.

World Trade Center- Ground Floor


The complex of seven building, World Trade Center, was located Lower Manhattan in New York City.it was destroyed in the September, 11, 2001 terrorist attacks when two hijacked planes crashed in the towers. This caused thousands of deaths. It was origonally designed by Minoru Yamasaki with Emery Roth & Sons as associate architects in the early 1960s. Both the towers were 110-story. The Center contains 13.4 million square feet (1.24 million m²) of office space. To excess the whole building, there was a network of elevators. Altogether, It had 95 local and express elevators. The two towers were different in height, the first one was built in 1972 and was 417 meter whereas the second one got completed a year later measured 415 meter.
Hollywood Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl officially opened on July 11, 1922 on a site that was formerly known as the “Daisy Dell”. It is an amphitheatre in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California, USA which is used basically for musical performances. It can seat 17,376 people. This is built against the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills and the famous Hollywood Sign to the Northeast side. The shape of the concave hillside the amphitheater is carved into is like a bowl that is why it is refered to as “Bowl”. The first inaugurative musical performance was performed in The Hollywood Bowl in July 11, 1922. In 1926, Allied Architects regraded the shell and increased the seating capacity. In 1927, Lloyd Wright built a pyramidal shell but its appearance was not appreciated so for the 1928 season, he built the arches with fibre-glass at 120-degrees. It has been featured in many films as well.

Hammer Museum

The Hammer Museum is an art Museum in Los Angeles, California. This museum was founded by Armand Hammer, the late CEO of the Occidental Petroleum Corporation. He founded it to exhibit his excessive art collection. The museum opened to public in November 1990 and Mr. Hammer died 15 days later. Currently the Hammer Museum is operated by UCLA's School of the Arts and Architecture. They got the authority in 1994. In 1994, the Hammer Museum sold Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Leicester to Microsoft founder Bill Gates for $30.8 million which Mr. Hammer had purchased in 1980 for $5.12 million. He also tried to rename it to Codex Hammer but was unsuccessful. The Museum also organizes lectures, readings, symposia, film screenings, musical performances, and other events. In late 2006, the Billy Wilder Theater opened at the Hammer Museum.

Griffith Park

Grifith Park is located at eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It is spread over an area of 4,210 acres (17.0 km2; 6.58 sq mi). This area makes it one of the largest urban parks in North Ammerica. After Mission Trails Preserve in San Diego, it is the second largest city park in California. It was owned by Colonel Griffith J. Griffith. In 1915, On October 3, 1933, fire broke out in this park, when 3,780 men were clearing brush, it caused 29 deaths 150 were injuries. Then on May 12, 1961 a wildfire on the south side of the park which burned 814 acres (3.3 km2). D.W. Griffith (no relation to Colonel Griffith) filmed some of his battle scenes in this park.


Griffith Observatory

Griffith Observatry is located in Los Angeles, CaliforniaUnited States. Its architectural style is Art Deco. The construction started in June 20, 1933. The buildings architects were John C. Austin and Frederick M. Ashley. The land for the observatory was donated to the City of Los Angeles by Col. Griffith J. Griffith in 1896.  The observatory and the accompanying exhibits opened to the public on May 14, 1935. Back then its director was Dinsmore Alter. Currently Dr. Ed Krupp is having the directorship of the Observatory.  Foucault pendulum was the first exhibit which took place in 1935. This was designed to show and demonstrate the rotation of earth. Other exhibits include twelve-inch (305 mm) Zeiss refracting telescope, a triple-beamcoelostat and a thirty-eight foot relief model of the moon's North Polar Region. It closed in 2002 for the renovation and re-opened on November 3, 2006.
Getty Villa

The Getty Villa is situated in Pacific PalisadesCaliforniaUSA. It is a museum and an educational centre dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient GreeceRome and Etruria. It was established in 1974. Origonally J. Paul Getty opened a gallery adjecent to his home but soon he ran out of space so he thought to open a second museum on the property. That second museum was Getty Villa whose building was inspired by the Villa of the Papyri at Herculaneum. Its architects were Machado and Silvetti Associates. After the renovation it reopened on January 28, 2006. The Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities are arranged by themes. It attracts many tourists and visitors because of its beautifully made building and large collection.

Fowler Museum

The Fowler Museum at UCLA, commonly known as “The Fowler”, is a museum on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). It was established in 1963 but changed its facility on September 30, 1992. This museum explores the art mostly from AfricaAsia and the Pacific, and the Americas, history and currently. Events and other programs are also organized here at the Fowler Museum. It is operated by UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture (UCLA Arts). Lectures on cultural topics and musical performances are also delivered here at the Museum. The admission to the museum is free. It is a red-bricked building which adds to its beauty. Tourists, visitors and local people come to visit the Fowler Museum.

Farmers Market

Farmers Market is located at the corner of 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles, California, just south of CBS Television City.. It is one of the oldest markets in the city and provides great dining eating and shopping options. It started when many farmers would pack their stuff in trucks on a field to sell their fresh stuff. It is a very crowded place with area of food stalls, sit-down eateries, prepared food vendors, and produce markets. It has more than 100 resturants, grocers and tourists spots. This market is very popular among the people who love food, dining out and hotelling. To celebrate their 76th anniversary, on July 13th 2010, they hosted a walk-around tastinmg event.


Echo Park - Los Angeles

Echo Park is located in Los Angeles, California, northwest ofDowntown Los Angeles and southeast of Hollywood. It is a hilly area. Thomas Kelly owned the community of the Echo Park. It is spread over an area of 2.4 sq mi (6.2 km2). The park was named “Edendale” even before its construction started. Mystery writer Roger L. Simon lived in Echo Park and set many of his Moses Wine detective stories there. During 1920s, a wild pelican made the lake, at the Echo Park, his home and got very famous. In 1969, Keith Barbour recorded a song titled "Echo Park". Echo Park and its small lake is a great attraction source to the tourists. On the Sunday closest to May 20, a Cuban festival is held anually. It is held to honour the Cuba's Independence from Spain and also to honor Cuban poet and patriot José Martí. José Martí’s statue is standing in the Echo Park.

Chinese Theater

The Chinese Theater is located at 6925 Hollywood Boulevardin Hollywood, Los Angeles. The construction of the Chinese Theater started in January 1926 and it opened to the public on May 18, 1927. It is a movie theater. In 1968 the Chinese Theater was declared a historical landmark and had undergone many renovations since then. In 1973, it was purchased by Ted Mann and was known as Mann's Chinese Theatre, from 1973 till 2001. But when he became bankrupt, Mann’s Chinese Theater alongwith his other properties were sold in 2000 to a partnership of Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures. Then the old name was restored. The exterior of the theater represents a red Chinese Pagoda. A huge dragon is featured along the front. The Academy Awards ceremonies were, in 1944, 1945, and 1946, were held at the Chinese Theatre.

Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels

Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is also known as the “Los Angeles Cathedral”. It is a cathedral church of the United States in Los Angeles. It is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. Rafael Moneo. A Spanish architect, designed the Church. He had also won Pritzker Prize. The church was completed in year 2002 and the total cost of construction was $250 million. It is a 12-storey high building and can accommodate 3,000 worshipers. It is spread over an area of 5.6 acres (23,000 m²). Among the art work in the Church, there are tapestries of the communion of saints by painter John Nava, and the plaza fountain by Lita Albuquerque and Robert Kramer. The organ was built by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders and it has 105 ranks of pipes.
Capitol Records Tower

Capitol Record Tower was formerly located in Los Angeles, but its now currently operating in New York City as part of Capitol Music Group. In 1942, the Capitol Records Tower was founded by the songwriter Johnny Mercer. The building was designed by Welton Becket. The first recording was done On April 6, 1942, and that was Martha Tilton singing 'Moon Dreams". The earliest recording artists included co–owner Johnny Mercer, Margaret Whiting, Jo Stafford, Paul Whiteman, Martha Tilton, Ella Mae Morse, the Pied Pipers, and Paul Weston. Its first record album was Capitol Presents Songs by Johnny Mercer. By 1946, the Capitol had sold 42 million records. It has also recorded sound-tracks for the movies including Oklahoma!, Carousel, and the King and I. In September 2006, EMI declared that it had sold the tower and adjacent properties to New York-based developer Argent Ventures, for $50 million.


California State University

California State University is located in the eastern region of Los Angeles, California, United States. It is situated next to two major interstate highways: Interstate 10 and Interstate 710. It is a public university. The university is spread over an area of 175-acre (0.71 km2). It was founded on July 2, 1947, origonally it was established as "The Los Angeles State College". In 1949, it changed to "The Los Angeles State College of Applied Arts and Sciences." In 1972, CSCLA got the university status and then got its present name, California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). A Statue of Confucius was dedicated to it in June 1987 by the Republic of China in Taiwan. The university has a faculty of 1,031 teachers and its motto is “Vox Veritas Vita” (Latin) "Voice Truth Life".

California Science Center

The California Science Center, sometimes spelled as “California ScienCenter”, is a museum located in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. It was established in 1951. It is the partnership between State and the California Science Center Foundation. Formerly it was known as California Museum of Science and Industry. It was renovated in 1998 and was named California Science Center. The California Science Center includes IMAX Theater, the Sketch Foundation Gallery - Air and Space Exhibits (formerly Aerospace Hall) and the Science Center itself. Ecosystems exhibition wing.opened in March 2010.The Center hosts California State Science Fair every year. This fair includes 28 regional science fairs. Awards are given to the junior and the senior levels. Various organizations also sponser many awards, some in cash.

California Institute of Technology

Caltech or California Institute of Technology is a private research university located in Pasadena, CaliforniaUnited States. The campus is approximately 11 miles (18 km) northeast of downtown Los Angeles and is spread over an area of 124-acre (50 ha). Althoughh the institute has six acedemic divisions but its main focus is on sciences and engineering. It was founded by Amos G. Throop in 1891. In early 20th centuary scientists like George Ellery HaleArthur Amos Noyes, and Robert Andrews Millikan were attached with it. The motto of this institute is "The truth shall make you free". 31 alumini and faculty of the California Institue of Technology has won the Nobel Prize. In 1917, architect Bertram Goodhue was hired to design the building of the institute. In 1971, an earthquake, of 6.5-magnitude, damaged the building which caused the demolishion of Throop Hall and the Goodhue-designed Culbertson Auditorium.

California African American Museum

 Located in Exposition Park,Los AngelesCaliforniaUSA, the California African American Museum include three exhibition galleries, a theater gallery, a 14,000-square-foot (1,300 m2) sculpture court, a conference center special events room, an archive and research library. The Museum opened in 1981. The building was designed by African–American architects Jack Haywood and Vince Proby. It is spread over an area of 44,000 square feet (4,100 m2). The building was renovated between 2001 and 2003. The purpose of the museum is to tell and preserve the history, culture and art of African Americans. The Museum has collected more than 3,500 objects of art and historical artifacts. It also consists of a library with more than 20,000 books and referance materials. The collection includes paintings, sculptures and photographs ranging from African art to 19th-century landscape. The admission in the museum is free but photography is not allowed inside it.

Beverly Hills / Rodeo Dr

Beverly Hills is a city located in the western part of Los Angeles County, CaliforniaUnited States. It is the home for many Hollywood celebrities, corporate executives and many other famous individuals and families. In 2007, this city contains some of the largest homes in Los Angeles County and the Nation. Wilshire BoulevardSanta Monica Boulevard, and Sunset Boulevard are present in major east-west thoroughfares in Beverly Hills. Shopping is done along  Beverly Drive and the world-famous Rodeo Drive. Rodeo Drive is famous for designer label and haute couture fashion. Some of the famous retailers at Rodeo Drive include CartierChanelCHANEL fine jewelryChristian Dio, Tiffany & Co.Tod'sTurnbull & Asser and many more. Beverly Hills has a warm, moderate climate and it recieves an average of 18 inches of rain.

Barnsdall Art Park

Barnsdall Art Park began in 1900s when Aline Barnsdall came to the West. Aline Barsdall was the grand-daughter of William Barnsdall, who had dug the second largest oil well in the United States. She had passion for arts so had plans to develop a new theatre company. This park was designed by the architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1927, Aline Barnsdall donated Park and its Frank Lloyd Wright designed structures to the city of Los Angeles. Today the Barnsdall Art Park presents, promoted and developes the art work and artists of the Los Angeles region. Barnsdall Park is located at the crest of Olive Hill, Barnsdall Park and overlooks the city of Los Angeles. It provides college level art education at relatively low price. 

Autry National Center



The Autry National Center is of the American West is located in 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los AngelesCalifornia. It has three importand institutions; namely: the Southwest Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of the American West, and the Institute for the Study of the American West. The museum exhibits thought provoking historical exhibitions, year-round programs for children, intellectual forums, and the acclaimed Native Voices at the Autry performing arts series. As the building is 93 years old so the galleries are closed to the public but the museum’s store is still open to the public. The Southwest Museum has a collection of 238,000-piece of Native American art. It was founded in 1907 and is one of the oldest museums in Los Angeles.
