1.0 INTRODUCTION This study unit introduces you to the Part I of the Peoples of Northern Nigeria and their culture in precolonial times. It focuses on the first three major ethnic groups found in the Northern
Nigeria namely the Hausa, the Kanem-Bornu and the Nupe.
