th century. Building an organ is a complete design process that involves organ architects, engineers, and designers. No two organs are alike, and each is made to fit the design and spatial configurations of their future interior spaces. The engineers first m eet with customers and draw up preliminary plans; at times they even create scale models in the studio of the church interiors and organ lofts, in the same manner as our architects do for commissions today. Then the organ architects create blueprints or ‘chamber drawings’ that are used in the 10-12 month building process for each individual organ. All of the cabinet workings and designs are original, and this is the most skilled labor involved in the organ building process.
