Step 4: balance the clutch with the throttle
This is the most difficult step for driving a stick. Without matching the engine’s speed with the clutches, the car will either stall, or wear out the clutch plate.
Get ready to start moving
Depress the clutch pedal fully
Select first gear
Give the car some gas
Keep the tachometer needle near 2,000rpm
Ease off the clutch
The car will start rolling
Give the car move throttle, as the clutch is being released
When the car feels like it has momentum, remove your foot from the clutch.
You did it, now you’re rolling!
