I grew up just outside of Atlanta, GA and a year after high school decided to enlist in the United States Army. Not having any knowledge about the Army I told my recruiter I wanted to work with computers and this is how I found my way to the U.S Army Signal Center at Fort Gordon in Augusta. I entered the Army March 1995 completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and my Military Occupational Specialist (MOS) training as a 31P (Microwave Systems Operator/Maintainer) Signal Soldier at Fort Gordon. I was very happy to be stationed in Augusta, GA because it was not too far from and home. My Army tours include South Korea (twice), Fort Hood, TX, Fort Belvoir, VA, Charleston, SC, and Camp Zama, Japan. As an enlisted solider, reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
My tenth year in the Army I decided I needed a change, but was not ready to leave to Army, so I applied for Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was expected. I completed OCS at Fort Benning, GA and once again returned to Fort Gordon to complete Signal Officer Basic Course (SOBC) as a Signal Officer. My first assignment as a Signal Officer was a deployment to Afghanistan with 25th Signal Battalion, 580th Signal Company. I spent six months at Bagram Army Airfield as the Operations Officers and the next six months at Camp Eggers in Kabul as a Platoon Leader for the 35th Signal Battalion. Through-out my Army Career I have find myself continuously returning to Fort Gordon for training on several occasions, so it was no surprise for me to return after my deployment in 2007 at purchase my first home in Augusta.

I decided to study for my real estate license after my husband and I had the experience of dealing with a not-so good first-time home buyer real estate agent. My thought was I did not want anyone else, especially Military Soldiers and First-time home buyers to go through what my family and I went through. I obtained my license in 2008 and interviewed with several local real estate brokers, but decided to work with Exit Realty Leading Edge. My reasons for deciding on Exit Realty Leading Edge was the family-oriented atmosphere, the superior monthly and quarterly training, portable high-speed office technology, and the very knowledgeable broker, Christine May. Some may question working with a novice realtor such as myself, but with the help, assistance, and training from my broker and the other sales associates, I can assure you that you are in great hands. I have experienced and understand the stressors of military life first-hand, such as Permanent Change of Station (PCS)/Relocation and returning from deployments. Let me, Serrenyun Jackson, someone who understands your way of life, help you with all real estate transactions. I am ready, reliable, and committed to making the process of buying or selling your home as stress-free as possible.

I am married to my high school sweet heart, Derrick Jackson Sr., and we have three children, Darnell, Quanetria, and Derrick Jr.
