Excursions in Dubai
Excursions
A number of participants on previous workshops with us have said that they never had the chance to see anything of Dubai during their short visit. We have, therefore, made arrangements with a local company, Orient Tours Dubai for those who wish to book an evening excursion in Dubai on 26th and 27th September. The tours, which are exclusively for Ibicus participants, and make pick-ups at Raffles World Academy to make the best use of your time, are described by the tour company as follows:-
HALF-DAY DESERT SAFARI (4WD)
Date: 26th September 2013
Time: 1730 to 2230 approximately
Pick Up from Raffles World Academy and drop-off back at your hotel
Rate: AED 170 Per Person
This tour departs in the evening for a short drive over the sand dunes to reach our campsite, where you have the opportunity to enjoy camel riding, sand boarding and try out a henna design on hands or feet. Tanoora Dancers will perform before the Dinner. After working up an appetite, enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner and a shisha (the famous Arabic water pipe.) Before returning, watch our belly dancer performing her show around the campfire by starlight.
(See next page to book)
HALF-DAY DUBAI DEVELOPMENT TOUR
Date: 27th September 2013
Time: 1700 - 2100 approximately
Pick Up from Raffles World Academy and drop-off back at your hotel
Rate: Dhs 90 Per Person
Experience the new Dubai during this tour with a difference. Driving down Sheikh Zayed Road, admire the glittering high rises en route to Souk Madinat Jumeirah, a beautiful recreation of an Arabian style market place. After a photo stop at the iconic Burj Al Arab your drive continues to Palm Jumeirah, a fully reclaimed, palm shaped island that is home to the magnificent Atlantis, The Palm. After a photo-stop, continue to Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski slope in the region, offering fresh snow all year around. Our final stop will be at the base of what is currently the world’s tallest building, the Burj Dubai. Here you have time to admire the Dubai Fountain, a spectacle of lights and sound and one of the world’s largest performing fountains.

Feedback
Since this is the first time we have attempted to facilitate any such excursions, this is something of an experiment for us. We would therefore appreciate feedback from anyone who participates as to your views on the excursion, satisfaction levels and on general value for money etc. Please email lesley@ibicus.org.uk with any comments after the event.
