Principles of Communism

As put forward by its originator,Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in their book "The Manifest of the Communist Party" communism as a social, political and economic system are guided by certain fundamental principles for its existence. These principles are as follows:

  1. The compulsory seizure and overthrow of capitalist society (bourgeoisie) by the proletariat or common people i.e social revolution

  2. The state owns and controls all the factors of production.

  3. The existence of one-party system and stiff restriction on opposition

  4. The gradual disappearance and withering away of the state and its

apparatus or agencies

  1. The contribution to and distribution of national wealth is based on the principle “each according to his ability and each according to his needs”.

  2. The total disappearance of class and property differences

  3. The political power of the state is highly centralized

  4. The philosophy of communism believes that every society must pass through the primitive stages of slavery feudalism, socialism and capitalism before attaining communism which is the final and perfect stage.
