Cell Phones are currently the most used type of Communication. Cell phones started in 1946 to present. Text messaging is used more than talking. There are a variety of cell phones in the world.

  1. Cell phones vary in size, shape, and age.

  1. The First Cell Phones.

  1. The first mobile phone was the MTA. The MTA was made by Alexander Graham Bell in 1946. The MTA is weighed at 88.2 pounds. MTAs were usually found in cars.

  2. Motorola introduced the second mobile phone named the Motorola DynaTAc. The DynaTAc was introduced in 1988. The DynaTAc was 2.2 pounds and was nick named ‘the brick’. The Motorola DynaTAc was made by Dr. Martin Cooper.

  1. 2G

  1. 2nd generation (2G) was introduced by Radiolinja. 2G was launched in 1991. It is faster than 1G and had more operators.

  2. The First smart phone was is IBM Simon. It was made on August 16, 1994.Smart phones are phones that can do multiple tasks at once.

  1. 3G

  1. 3G was introduced in 2001, in Japan. 3G has more operators and processes more than 2G. 3G has introduced many more cell phones over 2G.

  2. 3G was followed by 3.5G, 3G+, and 3G Turbo. 3.5G was introduced in 2003 and had faster service of 3G. 3G+ was launched in 2006 and introduced Skype a social network. 3G turbo introduced new phones like the I phone 3GS.

  1. 4G (Present)

  1. 4G was introduced in 2009. 4G is self efficient and is faster than 3G and 3G Turbo. 4G has many networks like AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint.

  2. 4G also made a lot of multimedia phone companies like Motorola, Blackberry, Apple, and HTC.Multimedia phones are also known as smart phones. There are different types of cell phones like candybar, basic phones, smartphones, and tablets.

  1. Newer Cell Phones

  1. HTC Galaxy III, Apple I Phone, and BlackBerry Bold are examples of 2012 cellular phones. The order from greatest to least sold is Apple Iphone, HTC Galaxy III, and Blackberry Bold.

  2. Newer Cell Phones have different types of chips and parts. For example, Apple I Phone 5 has a A5 chip with IOS 6. The I Phone 5 has a 8 megapixle camera. The I Phone 5 also has HD video camera.

  1. Texting was invented by Raina Fortini in 1989.Texting is the most used type of mobile communication. Texting has a SMS mobile processor that millions of people use. You text on a board built in on your phone or on an keyboard on the screen of a mobile phone.

  2. Texting and driving is illegal in the United States. Numberous deaths have been spread across the world. When Texting and driving a person tends to not pay attention when driving and gets into a car wreck.

  1. Top Manafacturers

  1. Over a 20 year span Nokia was the leading cell phone manafacturer. There was only a few of manafactures over 20 years. With 19.8% of todays cell phones.

  2. The Leading cell phone manafacturer is Samsung with 20.7% of cell phone users, Samsung was established in 1969. The second leading cell phone manafacturer is Nokia with 19.8%, Nokia was established in 1865. The third top cell phone manafacturer is Apple with 7.9%, Apple was established in 1976.

  1. World Records

  1. The Strongest cell phones is the Sonim S1. The Sonim has survived numberous things like 300 degrees of oven heat, run over by a land rover, and it has fallen 84 feet. The Sonim s1 also has survived an elephant stampede but has failed being run over by a 3 ton forklift. The Sonim also features 1,500 hours of battery life.

  2. The longest phone call is 40 hours long. Tony Wright broke the record. He didn’t get a phone bill because he was using an internet phone. He broke another world record in May by staying awake for 11 days.

  3. The most expensive cell phone is worth 8 million dollars. The cell phone is an I Phone 4 with diamonds in engraved in the phone. The diamonds have over 100 karats. The home button has 7.9 karat diamond on it.
