THE PRODUCTION LINE PROCESS

  1. Blow Molding Area

The hardy plastic milk bottles are made here in the blow molding area, they are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The process of making the bottles start from the loading bin, where they are sucked through pipes into a blending machine which mixes up to 250kg of the pellets with recycled plastic. Next, it gets heard into a 15-ton blow molding machine where the plastic is melted at 190 degrees. Then the soft plastic is blown into a metal mold that shapes each container, every 8 seconds a new line of bottles hit the conveyer belt and before they can be filled the excess plastic needs to be trimmed. After the colling process, the containers with excess plastic arrive to the cutting machine where the leftovers are the recycled and all these processes are fully automated. Every 3,500 bottles trim generates 160kg of plastic. That excess plastic goes back to the blending machine to be melted again. Finally, once the bottles have the desired shape it’s time to test them. Each bottle gets checked for leaks, rubber pads grip the top of the bottle, and the air is sucked out. A sensor detects any holes and the machine automatically sends rejects to the recycling bin.

    1. Process and Quality Management Area

To maintain the quality of the milk, it first gets check to make sure no water has been looted the batch. Before it’s good enough to drink it first needs to go through a series of processes to ensure the quality and that happens in the pasteurization area. 12 pasteurizations and 10 silos receive the milk. The silos pass the milk first through the homogenization machine, then goes through the pasteurization to break down the fats. The raw milk needs to be mixed together or homogenized. To do that the milk goes through a network of pipes, sensors, and temperature gauges to make sure both the quality of the milk and its consistency are uniform. Next, it passes through heated plates and raise the milk temperature to 78 degrees killing harmful bacteria and extending the life of the milk.
