PACKGINGWith the bottles being filled, thousands of bottles an hour are rushed along the conveyer belt into the packing room. The bottles are lifted into plastic crates that each hold 9 containers, 2 crates at the time enter the pallet. Once it reaches 24 crates it’s ready to be picked up, 4 automatic lifters send the pallets down the line and into the cold storage facility. INVENTORYMillions of products arrive at a 13,000 square meter cold storage facility every day, split up into 3 sections it can hold up to 35,00 crates. Here speed is vital, getting these fresh products from the cow to the doorstep needs precise timing. To keep the milk fresh, 30 giant air-conditioning units keep the warehouse between 4 and 5 degrees that’s the same temperature as the container trucks. Every day 150 of these 12m trucks head for depos across the region. R&D SECTIONFrom the 6 mega farms, millions of litters of milk make their way to the processing factories to be turned into hundreds of dairy products for consumers. Although, in order for the company to make Almarai brand in the head of the game. They are consistently researching to find new products. Their researches are categorized into two, the analytical research which is basically the chemistry of food, and concepts in terms of human senses researches. A team of 16 full time scientists oversees the development and every new product from idea to launch. With milk processed, bottled, and check it’s ready to hit the road onto one of the depots. With 65 regional depots throughout the Middle East, Almarai has to ensure that the products are properly packed with appropriate temperatures for different products. Once the products reach the depots they are immediately reloaded and shipped to stores. The company owns 3,400 trucks that reaches to more than 42,000 shops within the GCC countries on daily basis. From the farm to the processing plant the final leg of the milks journey is as impressive as its start. One vehicle leaves a depot every 6 minutes.
