Volunteerism

  • Active parent volunteer at The Grove Community School

  • Member of the Advisory Committee at Fanshawe College for the development of their new Theatre Performance Training Program. I worked very closely with the program head, Sean Quigley, on curriculum, scheduling, program philosophy and mandate.

  • ACTRA Toronto/National Councilor for four years. Served as an Executive Member on Toronto council for one year. (ACTRA is the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists and is the union that represents performers in Canada) Serving as an elected representative for the union has taught me invaluable administrative skills. Meeting organization protocols including: minutes, agendas, presenting reports and committee work.

  • Committee Work as Member: Communications Committee (National & Local), Political Action Committee, Casting Task Force, Bargaining Committee, Women’s Committee.

  • Re-wrote and assembled the National ACTRA Apprenticeship Training program and manual. This program educates new members about professional behaviour within the industry and how to succeed.

  • Fundraising for many artists and theatre companies.
