Dewey Jonathan Ward, of Kennebunk, a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 304, who has attained the high rank and distinction of Eagle Scout. This is the highest award in Boy Scouting and is given for excellence in skills development, leadership, personal growth and community service. the Maine Warden Service, on the 125th Anniversary of its creation, March, 9, 2005. In 1880, the 59th Maine State Legislature enacted legislation to expand the duties of previous Commissioners of Fisheries to include enforcement of all matters pertaining to game as well as fisheries, creating the position of State Game Warden as we know it today. The Maine Warden Service was given the task of protecting our fish and wildlife resources and given the responsibility of conducting search and rescue missions for persons lost in Maine's vast woods and on Maine's inland waters. Since 1880, 14 members of the Maine Warden Service have given their life in the line of duty as Maine Wardens, the highest price paid by any one law enforcement agency in the State of Maine. We recognize the Maine Warden Service on this anniversary and we extend our appreciation to the past and present members of the Service for their efforts in protecting Maine's greatest resources; (HLS 254)

Peggi Stevens, art teacher in Brooklin, recipient of the 2005 MMAE Bill Bonyun Artist/Educator Award. Timothy Veilleux, of Belgrade, who has attained the high rank and distinction of Eagle Scout. Zachary Helm, of Palermo, who has attained the high rank and distinction of Eagle Scout. Henry Jackson, of Oxford, on receiving a Special Award for Outstanding Service to the Fairs and to the Harness Racing Industry of Maine. This award was presented by the Maine Association of Agricultural Fairs. Henry has worked for the Department of Agriculture for 34 years in various positions and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Maine Harness Racing Commission. Through the years he has been involved in the poultry and beef industries along with his duties at all levels of county fairs. He has devoted many hours of his personal time to ensure that the people of our State do not lose this important piece of our history. We extend our gratitude to Henry for his many years of dedication, support and involvement in the agricultural industry and we extend our best wishes to him; (HLS 310)

Althea Blake, of Pownal, whose public service to the town is legendary. A founding member and past president of the Firemen's Auxiliary, Althea also donated many hours of volunteer service to the Pownal Volunteer Fire Department. She was a founding member of the Pownal Scenic and Historical Society and was also an active participant in the formation of the Pownal Elementary School. For most of the 56 years she has lived in town, she has served as a ballot clerk, and for many years also assumed the responsibility of serving the warrant for town meetings. In addition, she was actively involved in fund-raising suppers for many of these groups. Her years of dedicated concern for the well-being of the town and its inhabitants is admirable. We acknowledge Althea's many selfless volunteer acts, all performed with her characteristic cheerful smile, and we extend our best wishes to her; (HLS 311)
