Only twenty-five copies of Randado were offered for sale and thus it was extremely scarce even at the moment of its birth. In the intervening years Tom Lea has won acclaim both as an artist and as a writer, but copies of Randado remained as fugitive as the physical remains of the horse ranch which first bore the name. Now the text may have circulation as part of the Association’s annual meeting program of 1954. Copies may be preserved through many decades to delight those who believe in the Texas tradition and those who thrill to the story of horses” (H. Bailey Carroll in his preface to this reprinting). $50.00
