The Thousand Dollar Dinner, which tells the story of the 1851 culinary duel between Delmonico’s in New York City and Parkinson’s in Philadelphia. On April 19, 1851, fifteen New Yorkers arrived at Parkinson’s for a seventeen course meal beginning with Oysters and ending with Café Noir. Reservations are required.

Roger Williams Park Zoo salutes the men and women who serve our nation this Veterans Day with free admission for veterans and members of our armed forces, and half price admission for up to three guests. Identification of active or retired status must be shown to receive free admission.

The start and finish line is at the Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion, on Corn Neck Rd. The roadway is marked at ½ way at the water stop. proceeds benefit an island charity.
