Policy Statement: Infertility management services shall be promoted and provided in all provincial healthcare facilities by an appropriately trained provider. Strategy: 1. Reduce the incidence and prevalence of infertility through proper management of sexually transmitted infections, post-abortion and postpartum sepsis Provide adequate training for healthcare providers for counselling and management of infertility Develop national standards for Infertility management Advocate for the establishment of at least one properly equipped Infertility Management Centre. Objective Eight To increase the involvement of men in sexual and reproductive health programs. Policy Statement Men and boys should be encouraged to actively engage in reproductive health. Strategies: 1. Increase male utilization of sexual and reproductive health services Promote male support for the utilization of sexual and reproductive health services by women and adolescents Increase male involvement in the promotion and upholding of reproductive rights of women and adolescents Promote and facilitate, starting from in-service training, up to all level of services, the active involvement of husbands and partners in the support of the pregnant woman during the gestational period (ANC) and the childbirth (in the labour ward. Objective Nine To promote research on sexual and reproductive health issues.
