Kevin Curtis

Height: 5-11

Weight: 186

Position: WR

College: Utah State

Drafted: Pick 10 of the 3rd round by St. Louis
Analysis
Positives: Displays superb athletic ability, possessing the change-of-direction agility, speed, quickness and body control to be a consistent deep threat...Shows good foot- ball intelligence, timing his leaps perfectly to go up and get the ball at its highest point...Leads by example, as he has that "never quit" attitude, whether in games, practices or the weight room...Plays with pain...Shows great tilt and lean in his release, displaying the sudden burst and acceleration, to go along with the stutterstep foot moves to elude...Has solid body control, using his head and shoulder fakes as he stabs and stems to set up the defensive backs...Has that extra gear needed to change pace running his routes...Will settle and break with a sharp burst to separate...Does a nice job of tracking the ball over his shoulder...Looks very fluid reaching and plucking at the ball away from his body... Knows how to use double moves to defeat the cornerbacks...Runs proper post and corner routes, streaks and fades and is also very effective on the short outs and curls, finding the holes to break out of his cuts.
Negatives: Struggles to get a fluid release in press coverage...Marginal blocker who lacks the strength to sustain...Does not have the leg drive to break tackles...Has solid body control, but needs to improve his quickness when trying to move laterally...Occasionally will drop the easy pass...Needs to get his hands up quicker when blocking for the ground game...Despite his speed, he needs to work on his wiggle and shake when trying to make the defender miss.
